For the last two decades, amfAR's annual Cinema Against AIDS benefit has been the hottest ticket in town during the Cannes International Film Festival.
The annual star-studded event, renowned for being the most glamorous and unpredictable event held in conjunction with the Film Festival, well be held at at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.
As always, the gala will include several musical performances, where this year's lineup includes the soulful Robin Thicke, indie-darling Lana Del Rey and the hottest R&B singer at the moment Aloe Blacc. There will sure to be a parade of prominent appearances as many celebrity guests lend their hand with the event's over-the-top live auctions. The legendary live auction has included a trip to space with Leonardo DiCaprio, a private performance by legendary rock icons Duran Duran, a family portrait sitting with Annie Leibovitz, the opportunity to star in a short film by Karl Lagerfeld, and works from Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, and many others.
The event will also feature a fashion show curated by Carine Roitfeld, providing one-of-a-kind looks all in red, from a who's who of the world's most celebrated fashion designers. Participating designers in the fashion show will include Alexander Wang, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Giorgio Armani, just to name a few.
The amfAR's annual Cinema Against Aids has been an important and successful fundraising event for the foundation, generating more than $120 million for vital AIDS research.
This year's event chairs includes amfAR global fundraising chairman Sharon Stone, and ambassadors Heidi Klum, Milla Jovovich, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Aishwarya Rai, Lewis Hamilton, Harvey Weinstein, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Carine Roitfeld and Kenneth Cole.
