The French Riviera beckons!

It’s time to start making your bookings if you wish to attend the 68th Cannes Film Festival, which takes place from the 13th to the 24th of May, 2015. Let Baroque Travel make all your arrangements for you. And follow our guide, which gives all the information on this year’s fabulous Festival.

Every year in May, the city of Cannes in the south of France transforms from a peaceful luxury seaside resort into a bustling haven full of more than 200,000 movie stars, film makers and fans who come to attend the Festival de Cannes, more colloquially known as the Cannes Film Festival. These people make the French Riviera their home for two weeks, and spend their days watching a selection from the thousands of films that are screened. Stars dress up each time they venture forth into the spotlight – it’s truly one of the most exciting events in movie star history.

This year, the festival stars on Wednesday the 13th of May, and you’ll find that things only really get exciting as the weekend looms. This will be the first time that two people will be Presidents of the Jury – Joel and Ethan Coen are both selected for this title for the 2015 main competition.

If this is your first time at the festival, it’s a good idea to get there early, as the first weekend is hectic and you won’t be able to get your bearings. Regardless of when you arrive, you’re in for a treat – it’s a manic time in Cannes, and to be part of the madding crowd is an unforgettable experience. The last weekend of the festival is a great time to watch a movie or two, enjoy the sun, sea and stunning scenery around you. This is the French Riviera after all – so pack your designer swimwear as well as your evening outfits.
