London Fashion Week September 2016

There is plenty to look forward to at this month’s London Fashion Week, which runs from 16 to 20 September. Baroque Travel checks out what’s happening

This month’s Fashion Week in London – the 64th edition of London Fashion Week – will see more than 5,000 people from over 58 countries flocking to this cosmopolitan city. That’s definite proof that the UK is a major player on the global fashion stage.

The Spring/Summer 2017 collections on the schedule will feature 83 fashion designers. Also, more than 150 designers will showcase their creations in the Designer Showrooms at Brewer Street Car Park. Numerous famous designers will showcase their collections for the first time, including Malone Souliers and Acquascutum. In addition, international brands MM6 and Versus return to the show. There are also quite a few number of first-timers who will show on the catwalk.

Fashion Weeks have changed over the past few years, and this will be evident at London Fashion Week, too. For instance, Burberry will present both mens’ and womens’ collections together for the very first time. These collections will also be immediately available for purchase. Other designers showing both mens’ and womens’ wear for the season include Acquascutum, Belstaff and Joseph, amongst others. Brands who are embracing the ‘see now, buy now’ concept include House of Holland and Topshop Unique.
