The fastest Porsche 911 ever built

In May, German luxury automakers Porsche announced that it had produced its millionth Porsche 911. Now, Porsche has even more news… the fastest 911 Turbo ever made has been revealed this month

The magnificent new Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series is being billed the fastest Porsche 911 ever built. Revealed this June, this special edition model is limited to just 500 units that will each sell for US $257,000.

The exceptional Porsche 911 is legendary for its high octane performance and the latest model from Porsche’s exclusive bespoke division offers even more power, with its 3.8-liter turbo-charged flat six engine. This is the result of a brand new power kit that can achieve an impressive 607 hp. This amazing increase in power makes the new edition Turbo S Exclusive the fastest 911 ever created, with a time of 2.8 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and a top speed of 205 mph.

But the dizzy speed is just one of the notable features of this new model. It’s also stunning to look at, finished in a striking shade of Golden Yellow metallic, a color only found on the bespoke Exclusive Series of Porsche 911s. There is a range of other vibrant colors to choose from, but this color signifies the speed and tenacity of this brand new vehicle.

To set the vehicle even further apart from the rest it has carbon-weave strips with additional carbon fiber on the ram-air scoop. The car features 20-inch center-lock alloy wheels that have been created with an entirely new design and the vehicle comes standard with Porsche’s iconic Aerokit.

The interior is no less exceptional. The sports seats are adjustable in 18 different ways, and this is standard with perforated leather boasting golden stripes on the innermost layer to perfectly contrast with the exterior appearance of the metallic yellow flagship. There is also yellow stitching on the seams and yellow stripes on the Alcantara headliner to complement the overall theme.

Bentley on Demand

Bentley owners never have to drive anything else again, with the British automaker’s brand new luxury concierge service, Bentley on Demand. Baroque Ground finds out more

bentley concierge 8.jpg

If you are one of the privileged few who own an iconic luxury Bentley, you can now drive around the world in style even when you leave your exclusive British vehicle at home. Luxury automaker Bentley has just announced a new service, Bentley on Demand, which is exclusively available to owners of a beautiful Bentley vehicle. While they are traveling they don’t need to hire a car to travel in; now they can have a specific Bentley model of their choice delivered to them wherever they travel and use this for the duration of their trip.

They don’t need to request the very same model they have in their garage at home either; instead, if they would like to test-drive another model, or want a different vehicle for a special occasion, they can experience what it’s like to drive another Bentley while they’re away. Not only does this enable them to avoid renting a vehicle while they’re traveling, but it is a great way for them to try out newer or different models.

This innovative service is accessed through the Bentley Network app, which members of this exclusive club can download from the Apple App store for iOS devices. Once they have validated their account, they can select the Bentley of their choice from an extensive fleet of luxury Bentley models, and the car will be delivered to their destination in time for them to use on arrival.

Initially this unique service will be only available in the US this summer, in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. Other cities will be added to the list as the system is streamlined.

Let’s take a look at what vehicles are on offer. For instance, if you’re traveling on an adventure with the family, you may want to use a Bentayga SUV. If you’re interested in speed, the Mulsanne Speed could be your choice. The service is completely bespoke, and the door-to-door service ensures that Bentley owners are never without a luxury car at their disposal.

This is not the first time that Bentley has come up with an innovative idea for owners of its luxury cars. Six months ago, the British automaker completed a successful trial collaborating with ‘Filld’, a fuel-delivery service accessed through a mobile app that offered Bentley owners the luxury of never having to search for a fuel stop or fuel station.

So how does Bentley on Demand work? Once the driver has requested a vehicle for delivery, they will receive confirmation. Then, an hour before delivery of the vehicle, they will receive a reminder of the reservation. They will also be notified when the car arrives at its destination. This way, drivers are assured of a seamless delivery service. When the owner takes delivery of the vehicle, the concierge will give a demonstration of all the vehicle’s features. The same concierge will collect the vehicle on completion of the reservation.

If you would like to find out more about this unique service for Bentley owners, let Baroque Ground assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueground.com, and we will give you all the information you require so that you can have your Bentley on Demand next time you travel.

Mercedes S-Class 2018 makes its debut

In April, Mercedes-Benz showcased its latest iteration of its top-of-the-line S-Class, at Auto Shanghai. Baroque Ground finds out what sets this model apart from its predecessors

Auto Shanghai was full of stunning new car models, but one that stood out from the crowd was the 2018 model of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which offers an entire range of new, innovative technological features. Many of these features were evident when Mercedes’ E-Class debuted in 2016, but the S-Class has some new innovations all its own. These include Distronic Active Proximity Control, which, when set by the driver, uses GPS information to slow the car down for corners, circles, junctions, etc.

merc S 2018 2.jpg

The new S-Class boasts a 3.0-liter in-line six-cylinder diesel engine, instead of the V6 in previous models. There’s also a nine-speed automatic transmission with AMG’s Speedshift technology. The diesel version is said to be the most powerful diesel Mercedes model ever built. This large, comfortable sedan is a popular choice for those who are into German precision combined with the latest technology.

Since the S-Class was first introduced in 2013, this luxury sedan has proved extremely popular. The 2018 model is expected to be just as sought-after, if not more so, with its new styling, revised interior, new features and driver-assist technology. An example of this is the car’s innovative driver’s wellness system, which adjusts the ambience of the car, as well as the massaging program of the seats, the interior temperature of the vehicle, plus ventilation and lighting to promote health and wellness while driving.

merc S 8.jpg

The exterior of the new S-Class features new headlights and taillights, whilst AMG models boast a new design for the front bumper to differentiate them from both the standard and the Maybach models. Talking of Maybach – the Mercedes Maybach S-Class features a new Maybach logo for the front grille. The new S-Class also features a choice of two new 20-inch wheel types.

The interior is equally new and exciting and features a pair of 12.3-inch screens in the dashboard. There’s also a new three-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls. The car’s Burmester sound system has also been upgraded.

Another excellent feature is the enhanced camera and radar system that works together with navigation information to assist the driver in driving the car in the best way possible. This includes Active Distance Assist Distronic, Active Steering Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Active Lane Change Assist and Active Speed Limit Assist. Safety features include Pre-Safe Impulse Side, which inflates the seat bolsters if imminent side impact is detected so that the driver can be moved in case of an accident.

Upholstery choices added to the mix include Silk Beige/Deep Sea Blue, Magma Grey/Espresso Brown and Mahogany/Silk Beige. As yet, full specs and prices for the S-Class are not available, but are expected to be communicated before the cars’ launch later this year.

The most beautiful car in the world

It’s official. Jaguar’s F-PACE SUV has just been voted the most beautiful car in the world, winning the prestigious World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year titles at the 2017 World Car Awards. Baroque Ground finds out all about it

Not one title at the 2017 World Car Awards, but two. That’s Jaguar’s F-PACE SUV, the brand’s fastest selling global model, which has just scooped two prestigious prizes at the Awards – World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year for 2017.

That’s no mean feat for any car, but we have to say, we’re not surprised. Jaguar’s first-ever SUV is quite an exceptional automobile. Aside from being the fastest selling model ever produced in the Jaguar stable, the car is only the second to ever claim the historic double win in the World Car Awards’ 13-year history. And when you consider that 75 influential motoring journalists from 24 different countries were the judges, you’ll understand just how tough the competition is.

This exceptional SUV from Jaguar was designed and engineered as a performance SUV. It boasts exceptional dynamics, bold design and is created to be driven on a daily basis. The awards show the talent and exceptional work ethic of the Jaguar team, who have managed to produce the most practical sports car in the world.

These two prestigious awards is the first success for Jaguar ever at the World Car Awards. In 2016, the brand’s XE sports saloon was a finalist for the World Car Design of the Year title.

Far larger and more acclaimed carmakers had to take a back seat this year, as Jaguar took all the honors. This year, the exceptional Jaguar F-PACE triumphed over competitors such as the Audi Q5 and the Volkswagen Tiguan to claim the 2017 World Car of the Year title. When it comes to the second award, 2017 World Car Design of the Year, Jaguar’s stunning SUV received the award despite competition such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and the Toyota C-HR.  Despite it being Jaguar’s first-ever SUV, the F-PACE is quintessentially a Jaguar, and this, along with the brand’s innovation in a new sector of the auto market, is the reason that the vehicle has won such acclaim.

Of course, the F-PACE was a success story from the start. Jaguar’s first performance SUV not only attracted new customers to the brand, but it also became the fastest selling vehicle in the stable. The F-PACE offers a number of engine options, from the efficient, innovative four-cylinder 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel all the way up to the high-performance 380PS, supercharged V6 petrol model.

The F-PACE is one of three completely new product lines produced by Jaguar in the last year and has certainly contributed significantly to Jaguar becoming the fastest-growing car brand in Europe.

Rolls-Royce collaborates with rock legends for limited edition Wraiths

British auto manufacturer Rolls-Royce recently announced a series of nine remarkable Wraith vehicles inspired by British Music. Baroque Ground has all the details

The series of nine exquisite Rolls-Royce Wraith cars ‘Inspired by Music’ have been created in collaboration with some of Britain’s most loved rock and vocal artists to celebrate their legacy. Each car is a one-of-a-kind creation that is a collaboration between the artist and auto-maker Rolls-Royce’s master craftsmen. For these cars, bespoke designer Matthew Danton, under the leadership of Design Director Giles Taylor worked with each artist to capture their work’s most iconic and personal elements. The result is a true collector’s piece with the artist’s name is engraved on the door treadplates and on the base of the Spirit of Ectasy adorning the bonnet of the Wraith.

The first four Rolls-Royce Wraith vehicles were unveiled this month in London. They include a Wraith dedicated to Sir Ray Davies of The Kinks, two Rolls-Royce Wraiths created by Roger Daltrey, CBE, frontman of the band The Who, and one created by Giles Martin, son of producer and songwriter Sir George Martin.

rr rock 4.jpg

Roger Daltrey, CBE, lead singer and frontman of the band The Who, committed to creating two Wraith Rolls-Royce cars for the project. The first one is inspired by Daltrey’s own personal music legacy and includes the band’s famous ‘bullseye’ logo on the dashboard clock and stitched into the leather ‘waterfall’ between the two back seats. The headrests are embroidered with Daltrey’s signature and one of the musician’s most memorable experiences is depicted in unique embroidery– it shows Keith Moon’s drum kit, which exploded at the end of the band’s 1967 performance on American TV show Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.

The second Wraith car for The Who includes a collaboration with artist Mike McInnerney, who famously created the band’s 1969 album, Tommy. The rock opera’s iconic sleeve design has been immortalized on the bonnet of the vehicle, whilst other elements of the album’s artwork is found all over the Wraith. This unique collector’s item will be sold to help raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust, for which Daltrey is a patron.

The third vehicle is a tribute to band The Kinks, created by Sir Ray Davies in collaboration with Rolls-Royce. Sir Ray selected lyrics from two songs from the band’s 1969 album Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) to adorn part of the car, and Sir Ray’s handwriting was digitized and is engraved on the vehicle as well.

Songwriter and producer Giles Martin created a tribute Wraith in honor of his father, Sir George Martin, who was nicknamed ‘The Fifth Beatle’ by Sir Paul McCartney, as he was responsible for writing 30 number-one hit singles for the famous band, including the much-loved song, Yesterday.

Forthcoming collaborations to be released this year include one created by Dame Shirley Bassey to bring to life some of her memories from over 60 years in the music industry, another to celebrate the band the Status Quo, created by Francis Rossi OBE, lead singer and lead guitarist of that band, and the last created in collaboration with Rolls-Royce by Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood to celebrate his solo career.

This inspiring project has taken more than a year and a half to reach fruition. If you are interested in finding out more about the upcoming auction to be held later in 2017 when all of the Rolls-Royce Wraiths will be available for purchase, let Baroque Ground assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueground.com and we will find out all the information you require.

Aston Martin’s Valkyrie Hybrid Hypercar

New in the Aston Martin stable, the Valkyrie Hybrid Hyper car is one of the most exciting new vehicles to be developed in recent years. Baroque Ground offers some insight into this innovative offering

Word has it that the Aston Martin Valkyrie is so amazing, it will be hard for the brand to ever beat it. One of the most exciting car launches in recent years, and particularly for Aston Martin itself, this innovative new vehicle boasts aeroydynamics developed by Red Bull and a V12 Hybrid powertrain. That’s a level of performance that is likely to be unbeatable. But Aston Martin’s CEO, Andy Palmer, is not giving anything away.

He admits that one would need “a revolution in materials technology or engine dynanimcs before you could go further” than this 1,000-horsepower vehicle that is basically a racing car developed to drive on the road.

Created by F1 designer Adrian Newey, the car, according to Palmer, is the culmination of Newey’s Formula One expertise, which, he says, “is already the pinnacle of automotive technology”. And, according to Palmer, Newey is “putting all of it into the Valkyrie”.

Although the vehicle does incorporate Formula One technology, it does not have an F1 engine. The 150 examples of the Valkyrie that are set to be built are already in high demand. According to Palmer, Aston Martin has had more than 600 requests for the car already. But he believes that by having a limited edition of just 150, the car will remain prestigious and exclusive. Even with a price tag of $5 million each, the Aston Martin Valkyrie is still extremely sought-after.

The ground-breaking hypercar, the result of a collaboration between the British luxury brand and an expert F1TM, is a force to be reckoned with in the hyper car field. It’s an ambitious, uncompromising and extremely extraordinary collaboration that has resulted in two world-leading brands creating a vehicle that is not only unprecedented, but completely unique.

The Valkyrie continues Aston Martin’s tradition of creating cars with names starting with a ‘V’. First was the Vantage in 1951, which signified an increase in performance and desirability. The name was reserved for the brand’s most powerful models, but it was only in 2005 that the Vantage became a model line in its own right. Now, in 2017, the Vantage remains the most successful vehicle to have been created by Aston Martin.

The British manufacturer has created other vehicles named with a ‘V’, including the Virage, the Vanquish and the Aston Martin Vulcan and now they are bringing out the Valkyrie, which takes the brand to an entirely new level.

According to Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, this new model is the ultimate expression of “hypercar design, engineering and performance”. He says: “The Aston Martin Valkyrie is an incredibly special car that demands an equally remarkable name; an uncompromising car that leaves nothing in reserve. The connotations of power and honour, of being chosen by the Gods are so evocative, and so pertinent to a car that only a fortunate few will ever experience.”

Bentley brings luxury to the electric auto market

One of the biggest surprises at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show last week was from British auto maker Bentley, who revealed their first-ever electric concept vehicle, a luxurious dream come true for the energy conscious. Baroque Ground reports

If all goes according to plan, British auto manufacturer Bentley will roll out its first-ever collection of electric vehicles in 2021. And to give us an idea of what this concept car will look like, they revealed the EXP 12 Speed 6e Concept convertible at the Geneva Motor Show during its first week. This is the brand’s first pure-electric concept vehicle for production, a completely different project from the hybrid Bentayga SUV that is in the works and is due out next year. But this new concept convertible, if it is well received by the experts, could reach the production line in four years’ time.

The vehicle that is currently on display is not for sale or for people to test drive, as it is one-of-a-kind. It is purely an indication from Bentley that it is an example of what an electric vehicle would look like if they decide to produce it: luxurious, refined and energy-conscious, all in one package. A luxurious, all-electric sports car that can drive for 310 miles on one tank. A zero emissions chargeable model to gauge customer interest.

The design of this two-seater car is a genius combination of modern and classic – with an edge. In some cases, contemporary touches are disguised as vintage ones, like the round cameras that are used instead of side mirrors, which resemble old stealth-aircraft fuselages. Adjusting settings of the air vents on the front dash is done manually – a tongue-in-cheek nod to days of yore, whilst the rest of the dashboard buttons are used via an ultra-modern touch screen. There’s also a state-of-the-art high-definition OLED screen controlling navigation, entertainment and climate control.

Of course, this Bentley, like every other in the brand’s collection, boasts an interior full of fine leather, wood and carpeting. At the unveiling in Geneva, Bentley Motors Chairman and Chief Executive Wolfgang Dürheimer had this to say: “The EXP 12 Speed 6e is a concept to show that Bentley is defining electric motoring in the luxury sector, with the appropriate technology, high quality materials and refinement levels you’d expect from a true Bentley.”

At this stage, Bentley isn’t telling us the range, size or capabilities of the car’s motor, but it’s guaranteed to be high-caliber like every vehicle that comes from this legendary British auto maker. Regarding the electric capabilities of the car – according to Bentley, this will include both rapid inductive charging for which does not involve a cable, and an AC power supply (through a special outlet in the back, hidden under the license plate).

The vehicle on display in Geneva was a convertible without a top, but if it goes into production, it will feature a ragtop, just like all the other Bentley convertibles. As this is a concept car, some of the features have been exaggerated and will not be included if the car should go to production. Regardless, the idea alone is enough to get one’s adrenaline spiking.

Bentley’s concept car highlights the importance famous luxury and sporting auto brands is placing on electric power. For more information on this innovative concept vehicle, let Baroque Ground assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueground.com and we will find out everything you need to know about Bentley’s concept vehicle, and will keep you up to date regarding whether it goes into production or not.

Introducing Ferrari’s most powerful sports car

In March, iconic Italian auto manufacturers Ferrari will release the ultimate sports car, the Berlinetta 812 Superfast, which is the fastest and most powerful Ferrari ever built. Baroque Ground finds out all the details

At the 2017 edition of the Geneva International Motor Show from 9 to 19 March 2017, Ferrari will release its dream sports car, the Berlinetta 812 Superfast, which is apparently going to set the bench mark in the mid-front-engined sports car segment. The vehicle was inspired by the genius of its predecessors, which took over the spotlight during the F12 Tour de France in late 2015.

While it’s latest predecessor, the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta was an impressive vehicle, the brand new 812 Superfast is going to be even more impressive. In fact, Ferrari’s new baby will be a highlight at the Geneva Show, which will be attended by motoring aficionados, global automotive media and key figures in the industry.

According to Ferrari, the new car “not only introduces a plethora of innovative features, it’s also particularly significant as the V12 series marked the official start of the glorious Prancing Horse story in 1947, 70 years ago this year”. Ferrari added that the 812 Superfast will “usher in a new era in Ferrari 12-cylinder history”.

“It is aimed at clients demanding the most powerful and exclusive Ferrari in the range: an uncompromising sports car that will deliver exhilarating driving”.

The Berlinetta 812 Superfast is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine and achieves a top speed of 211 miles per hour; it takes a mere 2.9 seconds to go from 0 to 62mph. The vehicle boasts a maximum power output of 8,500 rpm and delivers better than any other front-engined sports car. It also features a dual-clutch transmission and is the first Ferrari vehicle to feature EPS (Electric Power Steering); this is utilized to exploit the car’s potential to its fullest. The new Ferarri’s electronic dynamics controls achieve more powerful performance and make the car easier to handle.

The new vehicle is being launched in a special new color, called Rosso Settanta and its interior is more sporty and radical than previous Ferrari sports cars. Its horizontal dash loops around the central air vents, offering a very stylish effect.

ferrari fast 3.jpg

Ferrari believes that the 812 Superfast will offer drivers an exhilarating and extremely comfortable driving experience whether they’re on the road or on the track. The company has yet to announce the price of the new Superfast, but it’s expected to be in the region of £250,000 (that’s US$312,256). They will announce pricing at the Geneva Show when they launch the new vehicle.

New Rolls Royce Phantom VIII to hit the road in 2018

Will the new Rolls-Royce iteration be the next ‘Best Car in the World’? Baroque Ground takes a look at the new Phantom VIII, which will be released in 2018

The Rolls-Royce Phantom VII has had a good innings. In all its iterations, this beloved iconic vehicle has captivated the world for the past 13 years. And now, in 2018, this iconic model is going to be replaced with a new generation Phantom, ending the reign of one of the world’s most popular vehicles.

Rolls-Royce, which was founded in the UK in 1906, offers extravagant driving experiences to a privileged few. The Phantom VII, which has universally been acknowledged as the ‘The Best Car in the World’ because it ticked all the boxes of all standards of luxury, and in fact, surpassed them, is going to be a hard act to follow. But the manufacturer is convinced they can up their act, taking into consideration that Rolls Royce owners won’t accept any compromise with the new Phantom. While we wait for this new vehicle to hit the road next year, the brand continues to fulfill the demands for the exceptional Phantom VII through most of 2017.

The new Phantom VIII promises to be as contemporary and beautiful as its predecessors, and, according to CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös, it will be “befitting of its role as the flagship of global luxury”. It will feature an aluminum base, which will probably make it the lightest Phantom ever built. This makes sense: less weight would be ideal for an expected plug-in hybrid model, which would offer a large battery. Apparently there are no plans for a fully electric car right now; but a plug-in hybrid model could definitely be an option.

For 13 years the Phantom has remained relatively unchanged, but the new model is expected to be considerably different. Speculation is rife about whether the Phantom VIII will be completely new, or will still offer features from previous models.

In the last few months, photographs have surfaced revealing a little of what this new flagship model will look like. However, no technical details have been revealed.

The photographs show a test model on the roads. Apparently, there will be numerous test models, each of a different size and height, as this model will be a template for a number of future models such as coupes, convertibles, sedans and even an SUV. But there are no plans for new versions of the Phantom coupe and Phantom Drophead Coupe, as Rolls Royce has recently launched the new smaller Wraith and Dawn models .

The new Phantom VIII will be launched in the first few months of 2018, and the SUV will be launched later in the year. One thing that these photographs show is that the new Phantom’s design will be revolutionary with a number of modern additions such as LED headlights (or perhaps laser lights) and other features.

Note: Rolls Royce is making sure that the Phantom VII goes out in style. It is creating one last model for a collector this year, who has commissioned a 1930s-style Phantom with a nautical theme. The vehicle comes complete with a powder blue interior and matching tone on tone embroidery that evokes waves on the sea. In addition, the vehicle is fitted with lamb’s wool carpets, a Blue Velvet exterior, pinstripe tyres and a solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy on the bonnet.

McLaren Second Generation Super Series

One of the major highlights of the 87th Geneva International Motor Show this coming March will be the launch of McLaren’s Second Generation Super Series. Baroque Ground finds out more

The 87th Geneva International Motor Show from 9 to 19 March 2017 will herald the start of a new era for McLaren Automotive. This is when the supercar manufacturer will launch the second generation of its exquisite Super Series.

The new iteration features an ultra-lightweight, carbon fiber central structure known as the Monocage II. It’s extremely rigid and at 1,283kg (2,828 pounds), it weighs 18kg (nearly 40 pounds) less than the first generation Super Series, the McLaren 650S, which is made of carbon fiber and metal. This new collection of models is the core of McLaren’s business. It personifies a perfect combination of extreme performance, exquisitely crafted luxury and an unparalleled driving experience, a signature of McLaren super cars.

By developing Monocage II, McLaren has created a vehicle with excellent all-round visibility for the driver. This chassis offers a lower center of gravity, which makes the new Super Series car even more dynamic than its predecessor when it comes to performance.

McLaren started the Super Series range of vehicles in 2011 when they launched the iconic 12C Spider. The following year the 650S Coupé and in 2014 they introduced the 650S Spider. In 2015 they launched the limited edition 675LT Coupé and the 675LT Spider. And now, in 2017, a brand new second-generation edition is about to take to the roads.

The new second-generation model is just the start for McLaren. In the coming years, there are 15 new models to come in the company’s Track22 Business Plan.

Special edition Ferrari J50 for Japan

A truly unique vehicle has just been launched by Ferrari, the J50, which was created to celebrate half a century of operations in Japan. Baroque Ground has all the details

To celebrate its 50th anniversary in Japan, Ferrari launched a special edition model, the J50, which was shown for the first time at the anniversary celebration held at the National Art Center in Tokyo. Created by Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari in its Maranello plant, this unique masterpiece was specifically created to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary of operating in Japan.

The limited edition car, which is based on the 488 GTB Spider, was specifically designed to offer a sense of nostalgia, so its exterior is inspired by Ferrari models of the 1970s and ‘80s. The most notable historic feature is the black line that runs from the nose of the car up to the base of the windows; this is exactly like the Ferrari F40 manufactured in the late 1980s. In addition, the windscreen has a ‘helmet visor’ effect – a reminder of Ferrari’s historic open top barchettas.

The car, which comes in a limited edition of just 10 examples available worldwide, boasts a polycarbonate cover, through which one can see the 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 engine, which delivers a most impressive 680bhp. This eye-catching two-seater low-slung roadster is painted in a special triple layered metallic red and the interiors are black over red. As it’s a convertible, the electronically controlled top, which is made from carbon-fiber, can be stowed away behind the seats.

The front of the car boasts a front bumper that has been redesigned and is lower than previous models. It features a large chicken wire mesh intake, sleeker headlights and other aerodynamic elements. Its tires have 20-inch rims that were specially forged for the car.

This very limited edition vehicle is a project of Ferrari’s Special Projects division in Maranello, which is responsible for previous models such as the 458MM Speciale and the more recent SP275 Competizione. All of the cars they produces feature outlandish stylish. The 10 J50 models will be completely bespoke – modified and tailored specifically to the requirements of their owners.

The Japanese love history, tradition, technology – and Ferraris. This is why the 70-year-old car manufacturer has been operating in that country for half a century, moving automotive innovation and technology forwards. In fact, Japan is the brand’s fourth largest market in the world. And this special vehicle is the first-ever dedicated model for the Japanese market.

Bad news is that all 10 of the vehicles are already sold. Customers spent between $26+ million to almost $32 million on their bespoke vehicles. The first will be delivered by the end of this year, and the rest will be due in 2018.

If you would like to find out more details about this special edition masterpiece from Ferrari, let Baroque Ground assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueground.com.

Luxury SUVs take center stage

Every luxury vehicle manufacture is getting onto the SUV bandwagon, including Jaguar and Alfa Romeo. Baroque Ground finds out more

Let’s start with Jaguar F-Pace S that has just been launched to the mass market. There was a First Edition this past summer, but that was a limited edition, and the new iteration is lighter, faster and prettier. According to those in the know, it’s in the same class as those SUVs being created by Audi, BMC, Mercedes and Porsche. In fact, those who have driven the model say it’s one of the best.

Unlike most SUVs that look quite similar, this one resembles the low-slung roadster F-type Jag, the Jaguar CX-15 concept from the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show to be exact. It’s a real crossover vehicle and, despite the resemblance, the two vehicles are quite different. The F-Pace is already known for its comfort, space and convenience. Jaguar first officially unveiled its SUV concept to the US market in 2015, and this past summer, it was launched. This first-ever sport utility for the US market is a beautiful car, considered by many to be the best-looking SUV on the market right now.

The question everyone asked was how would a British sedan and sports car brand create an SUV that would compare with the best. But this performance SUV has lived up to its name. Yes, it has the DNA of a sports car, but it’s an SUV, through and through.

The Jaguar F-Pace is a premium-edged mid-sized SUV that is in the same class as the Range Rover Evoque, Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan. But what sets it apart from the others is that, in essence, it’s still a Jaguar. Jag’s first luxury performance SUV to be exact. And it offers the brand’s legendary sporty handling and aesthetic good looks with everyday efficiency and practicality. It offers the performance for every type of road, and the capacity to handle every situation, including city driving and the active lifestyle.

And then there’s the new Alfa Romeo SUV, which is making a comeback in the US – and there’s no better way to do that than by launching a luxury SUV. We won’t see it in 2017, but come the following year, the 2018 Stelvio will be on the road, offering Alfa’s inimitable design and sporty dynamics in a bigger package than usual with four-wheel drive.

Of course, it’s good-looking. Of course, its interior is chic and classy. It also boasts quite impressive stats – from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds for starters. Named after the Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps, which is one of the greatest roads to drive in the world, this bulked up Alfa, which was revealed at the latest LA Auto Show in November is up to the challenge. With a 2.0 liter turbo-charged engine for the base model and a more fancy ‘Ti’ version that offers 280 horsepower and more than 300 pound-feet of torque, the Alfa Stelvio is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the SUV market. There’s another model, too – the Quadrifoglio with a 2.9 liter V6 engine.

Alfa Romeo’s new SUV is the optimal vehicle for those demanding the highest level of performance, design and style. It’s exquisitely crafted, as one would expect from the Italians, futuristic when necessary, and a masterpiece in its own right.

Featuring unparalleled 505 horsepower, extremely light materials including carbon fiber and aluminum, 8-speed automatic transmission and an interior that is sumptuous and stylish, this sporty, seductive SUV delivers an exhilarating driving experience of a true Italian sports car despite being a high-performance SUV.

If you would like to find out about either of these exceptional new SUVs that will be on the road in 2017 and 2018 respectively, let Baroque Ground assist. Contact us now, info@baroqueground.com, and we will find out everything you wish to know about the Jaguar F-Pace S and Alfa Romeo’s new Stelvio, including price and availability.

Bring on 2017 – and the new Aston Martin Vantage GT8!

Bring on 2017 –The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 will make its official debut at the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race in Australia from 3 to 5 February 2017. Baroque Ground founds out all the details

Created for British marque Aston Martin’s racing arm, R-Motorsport and inspired by the V8 Vantage GTE, this limited edition sports car is being produced by Aston Martin’s in-house Special Vehicle Operations division. The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is said to be the lightest and most powerful production V8 Vantage ever. The vehicle, which is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine, is being produced in a limited amount of just 150 examples, all of which are already sold out.

aston 2017 3.jpg

The new Aston Martin Vantage model already has a strong racing reputation, as it made its competitive debut at the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race in May this year. Although the car did not finish the race because of damage during an accident, it still managed to garner leader of the SP8 class and also took pole position for the race. Of course, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming 12-hour Bathurst 12 Hour race in Mount Panorama, New South Wales, Australia next year, which is apparently an exhilerating experience.

aston v8 vantage 1.jpg

The 2017 Aston Martin Vantage V8 is noticeably shorter than its predecessor as well as the Aston Martin DB11 prototype, and it’s also a little wider. It’s definitely a more compact two-seater vehicle, although it boasts similar interior fixtures and fittings. Electrical components are from Aston Martin’s current technical partner, Mercedes Benz, featuring a 4.0 liter engine, the same found in Mercedes’ AMG GT sports car and C63 AMG super saloon.

The Vantage offers a six-speed manual gearbox or Aston Martin’s automated single-clutch seven-speed. While the Vantage GT8 will be available from February 2017, an open-top Roadster is expected to launch in early 2018. In addition, Aston Martin’s DB11 Volante is to launch sometime in 2017 as well, and the Vanquish replacement and an electric Aston Martin Rapide are both on the cards for 2018. There’s also talk about a hyper car that will be sponsored by Red Bull and designed by Adrian Newey, to be launched in 2019.

So what’s so special about next year’s limited edition Vantage GT8? According to the boffins, it’s one of the most exciting vehicles available, the lightest and most powerful V8 Vantage ever. Its sleek, sharp styling is another reason it was sold out before it even launched. Apparently the engine is also an impressive one when it comes to acoustics. Despite a price tag that is reasonably hefty – well over $200,00 apparently – the 150 models are already all taken. And even if there were still some models available, none are being imported to the US.

But there’s always a next time to purchase a limited edition Aston Martin – apparently at least two special Aston Martin models will be available each coming year, including at least one other Vantage limited edition before the end of 2017. So if you’d like more information on this Vantage GT8 or upcoming Aston Martin models, contact Baroque Ground right away, info@baroqueground.com.

A dream supercar with Hermès style

Most luxury cars have a touch of style about them, but when a French couture designer gets in on the action, you’re guaranteed a car with extra cachet. Baroque Ground takes a look at the bespoke Pagani Huayra that was recently created for a customer in collaboration with Hermès

Italian sports car manufacturers Pagani’s latest creation is extra-special and even more luxurious than ever. In a collaboration with prestigious fashion house Hermès, the super car firm has just created the most unique and stylish version of the Pagani Huayra for a client. The two got together to design the seats, the H-pattern outer aeration grills in iconic Hermès leather as well as special travel bags to match the car’s style and power. But that’s not all. The famous French fashion label also designed a matching dark chocolate leather Birkin bag as part of the package!

This special edition Pagani Huayra was created to the specifications and requirements of entrepreneur Manny Khoshbin, who is an avid car aficionado and collector of specialist vehicles. The vehicle is fitted with a unique set of aerodynamics, exhaust, suspension and even a slightly larger set of wheels than other models. These are all part of the ‘bespoke Tempesta package’ created by Pagani for special clients.

In March this year at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Pagani unveiled the latest version of the spectacular Huayra model, the Huayra BC, after the company’s first-ever customer in 1999, Benny Caiola, who bought the brand’s first model, the Zonda C12 after it was launched at that year’s Geneva Motor Show.

The bespoke vehicle features the brand’s signature Mercedes-AMG-sourced six-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 750 horsepower, a 7-speed automated ma ual transmission and electronic active differential.

This is not the only super car that Hermès has provided styling for. In the past it worked with Bugatti to create the Bugatti Veyron Hermès Edition, also offering bespoke interior and exterior touches.

The Pagani Huayra Hermès Edition incorporates the Hermès logo on the grille within a chrome finish. This grille is fitted to the front bumper, side vents and rear grille. Instead of the iconic Hermès pattern, the Hermès ‘H’ has been applied to the Veyron. The super car boasts a full leather steering wheel, leather gear lever tip, brake lever and interior vents, all upholstered to Hermès specifications.

The car’s exterior is dark brown carbon fiber weave with the Tempestra aerodynamic parts. Wheels are black and the brake calipers are gold. But it’s the finer touches that set this Hermès model apart. For instance, its side mirrors feature an Italian flag on the left and a French flag on the right. Unique finishing touches also include the Hermès leather interior.

Khoshbin isn’t telling what the magnificent super car costs. But if you’re an maficionado like him, and would like your own custom-created super car from Pagani, contact Baroque Ground right away, info@baroqueground.com. We will find out all the information for you, whether you want your Pagani super car customized or not.

The fastest electric car in the world

British car company NextEV has unveiled its latest creation, the NIO EP9, which, they believe, is the world’s fastest electric vehicle. Baroque Ground investigates

NextEV, a Chinese FIA Formula E Championship manufacturer, which is based in the UK, launched its first project, the NIO EP9 electric car, part of its NIO brand, at the Saatchi Gallery in London this November. The newly revealed electric vehicle apparently delivers excellent performance. In fact, in October it achieved a new electric vehicle (EV) lap record at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschliefe, making it the fastest car in the world. It also broke the EV record at Circuit Paul Ricard in France on 4 November, recording an unprecedented time of 1 minute, 52.78 seconds – the previous record was 2 minutes, 40 seconds.

According to NextEV Founder and Chairman, William Li, “We believe that when the car ownership experience exceeds expectations, electric vehicles will become the natural choice for everyone, leading to a more sustainable tomorrow.”

The innovative new vehicle boasts four high-performance inboard motors and four individual gearboxes. It delivers 1-MegaWatt of power, which is equivalent to 1,360PS. The EP9 accelerates from 0-200kph in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 313km per hour. It features an interchangeable battery system and is designed to be charged in 45 minutes. Once charged, it has a range of 427 kilometers. Boasting 1,360hp, the new electric vehicle is propelled from rest to 200km per hour in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 313km per hour.

The EP9 will be available in China next year before being available worldwide. A price has not yet been revealed. This, the first of a range of electric supercars that NextEV plans to create in the future, is expected to match the performance of world class supercars such as the McLaren P1 and La Ferrari.

fastcar5.jpg

According to NextEV’s founder, the NIO EP9 was “born to push limits”. “It is a statement of our vision and technical and manufacturing capabilities… a best-in-class product that showcases what is possible with electric vehicles.” He believes that electric vehicles will become “the natural choice for everyone”. With this in mind,  future cars in the NIO brand will be less expensive than the EP9, and more accessible to the man in the street.

The world’s very first supercar gets reinvented

On display this month at the Petersen Museum in LA is the first Jaguar XKSS to be built in 60 years. It’s one of 10 being created for purchase in 2017. Baroque Ground finds out all the details

Sixty years ago, the Jaguar XKSS was making waves in the motor industry. And it’s doing it again! Yes, a stunning XKSS has just been built, and it was displayed at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles this month. Finished in Sherwood Green paint, this exquisite vehicle is the first of 10 cars that will be created by the Jaguar Classic Engineering team. The other nine will be sold in 2017 to lucky purchasers from around the world.

This magnificent Jaguar model is known as the first super car in the world. It was originally created by Jaguar as the road version of the Le Mans winning D-type Jag, which was built between 1954 and 1956. The following year, nine partially completed D types that were to be exported to the US were destroyed in a fire at Jaguar’s factory in Browns Lane, in the UK Midlands. As a result, only 16 examples of that particular model survived.

Earlier in 2016, Jaguar announced that its Classic division would be recreating the nine ‘lost’ XKSS sports super cars for a very exclusive group of customers and collectors around the world. The vehicle that was on display in Los Angeles is the result of 18 months of research, and will be used the blueprint for nine more vehicles.

Apparently, this specific model is one of the most important vehicles in Jaguar’s long history. The nine cars being meticulously created will be identical to those manufactured in the period 1954 to 1956 in every way. The new vehicles will literally be identical to their predecessors.

This is not the first time that Jaguar has undertaken a project of this kind. In 2014, the British manufacturer recreated six lightweight E-type Jags that were never made as planned in the period 1963/1964. This project assisted the team in engineering cars that with identical specifications to vehicles made earlier in Jaguar’s history, and this knowledge is what is assisting them in recreating the Jaguar XKSS cars.

The nine 2017 vehicles are being created by taking original XKSS models and laser scanning them, disassembling them and studying every single part of them to ensure the utmost accuracy. New engines have been built using the spec’s of the originals. These vehicles will boast brand new chassis numbers from the XKSS chassis log, and each will have a price tag of approximately $1.4 million. Not surprisingly, all nine have already been sold.

The original XKSS vehicles were legendary, known as the fastest vehicles in the world, as well as the most beautiful British specimens ever made. It’s likely that these nine hand-built specimens are going to be as revolutionary as their predecessors.

If you would like to find out more about these exceptional vehicles, and perhaps are interested in finding out who has purchased them, why not mail Baroque Ground right away, info@baroqueground.com and we will find out everything for you. You never know – perhaps one will be up for sale in the future!

House of Rolls Royce announces new Dawn

Inspired by the world of haute couture, Rolls Royce has created a brand new range of magnificent cars, ‘Dawn – Inspired by Fashion’. Baroque Ground finds out all the details

Rolls Royce has had a long-standing relationship with the world of haute couture, so designing a new range of vehicles in time for an upcoming fashion season isn’t something new. But the innovative designs on offer for Spring/Summer 2017 bear testimony to the brand’s iconic forward-thinking and timeless style.

For the new season, Rolls Royce has chosen detailing in vibrant color to complement a palette of classic white Rolls Royce Dawn vehicles. As Rolls Royce is quick to attest, the British car manufacturer has a similar philosophy to the world of high fashion. Both take the very finest materials and craft them into the most beautiful and covetable luxury products to inspire their clients’ tastes and lifestyles.

For the latest couture Rolls Royce collection, a team of designers were hand selected from the world of fashion, fine textiles and luxury accessories. Their task was to select three vibrant colors to set the tone for the new collection, colors that were offset by a neutral canvas of white. They chose three exceptional, bright shades: Cobalto Blue, Mandarin and Mugello Red. Subtle accents of these three colors were then incorporated into the interior design of each Dawn vehicle. This includes a brushstroke of color that is revealed when the convertible’s roof is lifted to provide shelter.

According to Director of Design for Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Giles Taylor, those who purchase their vehicles are trend setters. The latest collection of vehicles, entitled ‘Dawn – Inspired by Fashion’, perfectly expresses this. Like bespoke haute couture garments, the owner’s individuality is showcased in subtle details. The same applies to these breathtaking new cars.

When one opens the door of one of the latest Dawn vehicles, the car’s contemporary white exterior is offset by a black and white interior, that is then accented by the owner’s choice of one of the three vivid colors chosen for this Spring/Summer 2017 collection. It’s evident in embroidery on the seat headrests, on the stitching and piping of the seats, and even on the perfectly seamless stitching on the leather steering wheel.

Rolls Royce’s legendary craftsmanship and attention to detail is further accented on the dashboard, which is created in Piano White with aluminum particles to make it resemble silk. This finish alone takes nine days to achieve on each individual vehicle.

Prospective buyers of the new Dawn Rolls Royce can commission their brand new vehicle to their personal specifications from this month onwards. The price? The new model is available from £224,000 ($280,400 approximately). The bespoke service is at an additional cost.
