Bentley announces first-ever Diesel model

This week, famous British automobile firm Bentley Motors announced details about the iconic brand’s first diesel model, the Bentayga Diesel. Baroque Ground finds out all the details

Bentley’s new and historic Bentayga Diesel is already being touted as the fastest and most powerful luxury diesel SUV in the world. And no wonder – after all, the gasoline-powered Bentley Bentayga is already considered one of the world’s most impressive SUV’s, so it’s no wonder that it’s successor is praised to be an exceptional luxury car.

The new Bentley iteration boasts a technologically advanced, triple-charged four-liter, 32-valve V8 engine with a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour (168mph) and can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with permanent all-wheel drive.

The vehicle, which was created and assembled at Bentley’s Crewe headquarters, offers the quintessential Bentley driving experience. The Bentayga Diesel offers the lowest CO2 emissions of any Bentley ever made, not to mention a range of more than 1,000km (621 miles), enabling one to drive all the way to the Scottish Highlands, for example, on a single tank.

The interior of the Bentayga Diesel is just as impressive and innovative: with Bentley Bentayga’s iconic hand-crafted luxury as standard, advanced technology has been added for ultimate comfort. It is, in every way, a true Bentley, offering lots of power and the ability to travel long distances in the utmost comfort and luxury.

Bentley’s first-ever diesel model prides itself on its innovative clean technology, cutting-edge features – and breeding, of course. Another important detail: the Bentayga diesel version has a V8 Diesel badge embedded in the edge of the lower front door. There’s also a new Bentley ‘twin-quad exhaust set-up, a black grille with chrome surround and central bar, plus 20-inch 10-spoke wheels (Mulliner Driving Specification 21-inch wheels are available, too).

Deliveries of this historic diesel vehicle will start early 2017 in Europe. Delivery to other countries, including Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Russia and Taiwan will roll out throughout the year. Prices are not yet available.
