British automaker Rolls-Royce recently unveiled a powered yacht that will make cruising the seas an extremely luxurious experience. Baroque Yachts has all the details
The brand new 65-foot Aeroboat S6 day cruiser is the second yacht powered and propelled by Rolls-Royce and designed by London design studio Claydon Reeves. The first Aeroboat SV12 was created in 2013 and featured the iconic Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine in reconditioned form.
The new iteration is made from aluminum and carbon and rides on a hull that was developed by British studio BMT Nigel Gee. It’s powered by twin MTU V10 2000 M96 Rolls-Royce engines and a water jet propulsion system. The result is fully optimized and sporty performance.
The design of the yacht is described as a representation of the luxury outdoor lifestyle and the thrill of high performance cruising. Obviously, the easy access to the water’s edge is another advantage. The cockpit is shaped like a teardrop – this is one of the Aeroboat S6’s signature characteristics. In the central mid-ship seating area there is a dining table; the seating area then continues all the way to aft swim platform.
This exceptional yacht boasts two decks that can host up to 12 guests. There is only accommodation for up to four people, though. The cabin below features an entertainment area as well as a Pullman for crew or guests. Many of this iconic yacht’s features are larger, including a tender garage that can house a 3.8m tender or two jet skis.
To give the yacht easy access to the water, the Aeroboat is designed with an extendable swim platform; this can be lowered to act as a ladder into the sea. The inclusion of Rolls-Royce joystick controls ensures easy and accurate manoeuvrability when navigating in port or alongside other vessels. The yacht’s top speed with a light load is estimated at approximately 48 knots. Its range is 40 knots and the full 1,518-gallon fuel capacity offers approximately 400 nautical miles.
The new Aeroboat yacht project will feature a range of luxurious models offered between 55 and 100 feet-plus. The Aeroboat draws inspiration from the design of iconic British aircraft over the past 100 years, all of which harnessed Rolls-Royce power.
