For 30 years they have ruled the roost when it comes to offering the ultimate luxury cruise. Now cruise company Seabourn is introducing their latest super cruise liner, Ovation, an intimate 300-suite vessel that offers every facility expected from much larger cruise liners, as well as absolute exclusivity.

The new vessel has a sleek white silhouette, reminiscent of a luxury private yacht. The interior is elegant and warm, luxurious and refined, created by internationally acclaimed master designer Adam D. Tihany. Accommodation on board is spacious, with all suites facing the ocean, and private verandahs to catch the stunning sea views. The interior is designed with meticulous attention to luxurious details, offering guests every possible comfort.

Dining on board Seabourn Ovation is a gourmet affair, with a choice of five restaurants offering different menus. Select from fine dining to casual dinners by the poolside, or opt for delightful dinners in the privacy of your own suite, or on your private verandah. The restaurant, The Grill by Thomas Keller, is run by the famous Michelin-starred chef of the same name. The menu features classic American dishes that were stars in the ‘50s and ‘60s, with a contemporary touch. Highlights include steak, whole roasted chicken and Lobster Thermidor.

This extraordinary cruise liner features two outdoor swimming pools and six additional whirlpool spas, as well as an Observation Bar featuring 260-degree views, A Grand Salon show lounge, The Club for music and dancing, a topside Sun Terrace and The Retreat, which is a private enclave of fully furnished luxe cabanas for use during the day. Ovation also offers a fully equipped gym and salon with spectacular ocean views – and there’s a fold-out marina so that guests can enjoy various water sports in secluded coves on some of the planned itineraries.

Other facilities include an exclusive Spa and Wellness Center, a multimedia evening of delightful Broadway and West End compositions by Sir Tim Rice and a number of speakers to provide an enrichment series. In addition, nightly entertainment includes all sorts of productions and events including shows, piano music, an orchestra to dance to, cabaret and classical recitals.

Seabourn Ovation will visit numerous exciting locations on its itineraries, and the journey there is filled with exceptional hospitality and service, comfort and pampering, as befits a cruise line that has become legendary for being ultra-luxurious and one of the finest in the world.

Ovation’s sister ship, Seabourn Encore, has already gained a fierce reputation as one of the most luxurious cruise liners ever made. Seabourn Ovation will take the small-ship cruise experience one step further with even more luxury and comfort.

Rolls Royce reveals a hybrid concept yacht

Meet Crystal Blue, the innovative new hybrid-powered concept for the yacht of the future, created by Rolls-Royce. Baroque Access finds out all about it

RR-crystal-blue-1-1194.jpg

Iconic luxury British automakers Rolls-Royce recently revealed a concept yacht called Crystal Blue, which is hybrid-powered and is an indication of what we can expect future super yachts to be like. The cutting edge new design has been created to combine battery power and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to propel the 62-meter yacht through the water. To keep the yacht as light as possible, it will be built from aluminum or other similar composites.

Crystal Blue also features a number of state-of-the-art digital solutions that until now have only been featured on large commercial vessels. According to Senior Vice-President for Concepts and Innovation at Rolls-Royce, Oskar Levander, the luxurious vessel has been “specifically designed to show how new technology can meet the yacht sector’s increased demand for higher performance, greater operating ranges and increased levels of guest comfort, without impacting the environment”.

The new yacht will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests and an additional 12 crew members. What sets this new concept apart is the fact that the superyacht wheelhouse has been located below decks. In addition, Crystal Blue features Rolls-Royce’s Unified Bridge System that will remotely monitor the yacht’s surroundings. By doing this, the foredeck and upper deck have been freed up so that they can house a two-level glass-topped atrium that offers dining, seating and bar areas.

The concept also boasts other unique features, such as a 42m support vessel called Blue Shadow that will accompany the super yacht and hold reserve tanks of Liquified Natural Gas, which take up a lot of space. This would extend the hybrid yacht’s range to 4,400 nautical miles. Blue Shadow would also hold some accessories, such as a helicopter and a large tender.

Lumen-Adriel-Design-1.png

Crystal Blue also features a unique safety feature, a ‘safe room’, where both guests and crew can seek refuge in event of an attack. Inside the safe room, the crew can override the yacht’s controls and navigate it remotely. They could alternatively authorise a center based onshore to pilot the vessel.

Of course, hybrid is the preferred mode of transport in the eco-friendly future – even in super yachts. According to the Project Manager for the Rolls-Royce Blue Ocean concept team, Henrik Alpo Sjöblom, “Burning LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) has clear advantages over diesel for the yacht sector — there is no smoke, it doesn’t emit any unpleasant odours or fumes, and it meets stringent emissions regulations, allowing yachts to enter otherwise prohibited ecologically sensitive waters."

If you would like to find out more about this exceptional yacht concept, and when the super yacht will be built, let Baroque Access assist. Mail us right away, info@baroqueaccess.com, and we will give you all the information you require.

Aston Martin’s brand new $4 million 3-person submarine

This is not what one would expect to see at the Monaco Yacht Show, but there it was… Aston Martin’s brand new first-ever posh submarine. Baroque Access finds out all the details

aston martin Project_Neptune_1-jpg copy.jpg

British luxury brand Aston Martin is most famous for its automobiles and yachts, but no longer. The automaker revealed the renderings for its first-ever submersible at the recent Monaco Yacht Show, with a price tag of – wait for it – $4 million. This sub, which fits a driver and two passengers, features an acryic bubble in its cabin that maximizes underwater viewing. It will be able to dive to depths of 1,650 feet and travel at speeds of up to 3.5 miles per hour. With a height of 5.9 feet tall and weighing in at 8,800 pounds ,the Aston Martin submarine will be the smallest and lightest three-person sub in the world.

It is expected to be available to customers around the end of 2018, and will come in a limited edition of about 12. With that suggested multi-million dollar price tag, it’s understandable that not many will be produced.

Aston Martin did reveal a yacht at the Show – the AM37 that first made its debut in September 2016. The price for this luxury yacht is set at a starting figure of $1.64 million, while a car to match, the V8-powered DB11, will set the owner back another $200,000.

aston martin Project_Neptune_2-jpg copy.jpg

For the luxury sub, Aston Martin is collaborating with Triton Submarines, which works out of Florida and produces multi-million dollar subs for wealthy clients. The ideal, according to Aston Martin, is to drive the submersible vehicle from downtown Miami to South Beach. Interestingly enough, Aston Martin is also developing a real estate section to the business. Last year the brand partnered with Miami-based G&G Business Developments to create Aston Martin Residences, a 400-unit waterfront condo project in Downtown Miami that offers sublime views over Biscayne Bay. These units, which are priced from $500,000 to $35 million, are expected to be completed in 2022.

So, is Aston Martin taking James Bond’s storyline literally? In the 1977 movie, The Spy Who Loved Me, Bond drove a Lotus vehicle that could transform into a submarine. Aston Martin, has, in fact, featured in 11 James Bond Films, so perhaps the firm does take the Bond initiative very seriously. The automaker calls this new project a venture into new aspects of luxury. How far are they willing to go? We will just have to wait and see! Perhaps one of these brand new subs will feature in the latest Bond movie about to be created, starring Daniel Craig.

Of course this is all speculation. Right now the project is only at concept stage, code-named ‘Project Neptune’, with a sleek, elegant exterior. According to Aston Martin’s Vice-President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, "We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars."

If you would like to find out more about this exceptional submersible, let Baroque Access assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueaccess.com and we will find out all the details for you.

Porsche debuts new super yacht

On display at the Monaco Yacht Show last week, the Porsche GTT 115 Hybrid took center stage. Designed in collaboration between Dynamiq Yachts and Studio FA Porsche, this magnificent 35m vessel is breathtaking. Baroque Access has all the details

porscheyacht17.jpg

Sleek and futuristic in design, the new Porsche GTT 115 stood out from the crowd at the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of September 2017. Created in Viaraggio, Italy by Monaco-based yacht builder Dynamiq and Studio FA Porsche, the vessel is not only beautiful, it also performs very well. It can sail over a maximum of 21 knots with a cruising range of 3,400 nautical miles.

porscheyacht7.jpg

Porsche’s first-ever super yacht’s design is elegant and minimalistic, while a little peculiar. In fact, according to Porsche, “its fluid lines, side contours and balanced proportions recall the drop-shaped, overstretched surfaces of the Porsche 911”.

porscheyacht13.jpg

The yacht boasts a spa pool on the rear deck, al fresco dining area and up to four cabins, and is estimated to cost in the region of £12.3million (that’s US$16.5million – although some believe it is valued at even more). The Italian-designed interior boasts a spacious ‘saloon’ with seven-foot-high ceilings and entertainment area that offers panoramic views of the sea through floor-to-ceiling glass windows as well as wooden floors, marble countertops and leather furniture finishes with carbon fiber details. The yacht accommodates a maximum of 12 people — six passengers and six crew members.

porscheyacht15.jpg

In addition to the magnificent vessel that made its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show, Dynamiq is only creating this stunning vessel in a limited edition of seven all-aluminium crafts. As it is a hybrid, designs will include those taken from Porsche’s upcoming Mission E electric vehicle. According to Dynamiq CEO Sergei Dobroserdov, “The launch is the culmination of a long process of design and development to introduce a new kind of super yacht to the market. The modern gentlemen’s super yacht, the GTT 115, draws on the latest technology to combine comfortable high-speed with efficient fuel consumption”.

porscheyacht9.png

This superyacht was undoubtedly the most advanced of its kind at the Monaco Yacht Show, “with her round round-bilge hull form, podded propulsion, Hull Vane and exclusively developed stabilisation system with 4 fins and interceptors,” he said. He stated that the decision to make only seven of these super yachts was “to make the GTT 115 a true collector’s item”.

porscheyacht71.jpg

The yacht’s bespoke hybrid system features three generators of variable speeds, making it as eco friendly as possible for a massive super yacht. It runs on two MAN diesel engines with a combined horsepower of 12,594, and can also operate as a hybrid using its two 20.8 kW electric motors.

If you would like to find out more about this exceptional limited-edition super yacht, let Baroque Access assist. Mail us right away, info@baroqueaccess.com, and we will provide you with all the information you require. We can also assist in you purchasing one of these yachts if you require.

All electric luxury yacht – the Tesla of the seas

For half a million dollars this exquisite all-electric super yacht from Hinckley could be yours. Baroque Yachts finds out all the details

hinckley 5.jpg

Yacht builder Hinckley has just revealed its latest creation – the first all-electric super yacht in the world. The brand, which has been in operation for almost 90 years, unveiled its creation, a 28.6-foot electric luxury yacht called the Dasher, at the 47th Newport International Boat Show in September 2017.

There have been other electric yachts (including luxury ones) before – right up to the 1920s in fact, before the internal combustion engine took over. And then there is Duffy Electric Boats, a company that has been creating electric vessels since the late 1960s. So what sets Hinckley’s ‘The Dasher’ apart? For starters, no other sea-going vessel has ever attempted to sail in choppy seas. All the previous electric vessels sailed in calm waters. You’ll find the Duffy boats sailing along at a top speed of 5 or 6 miles per hour in marinas around the world. But that’s about it. They certainly don’t venture out to sea.

But The Dasher does. It’s been designed to venture forth into the open seas and sail at a much faster speed. This is a vessel on a completely different level.

Designed by Michael Peters, The Dasher has twin 80 horsepower electric motors, and uses two 40 kilowatt-hour lithium-ion batteries, the very same ones used by German automaker BMW in their extraordinary electric BMWi3 vehicle. The batteries provide the yacht with a range of 40 miles when driven at the cruising speed of 10 miles per hour. Of course, if the yacht cruises at faster speeds – say anything between 18 to 27 miles per hour – then the range would be cut in half.

It takes under four hours to fully charge The Dasher using the dual 50-amp charging cable, which is a standard on most docks, according to Hinckley. The vessel is light in comparison to other yachts: it was hand-painted with an epoxy substance that resembles Hinckley’s varnished teak finish, but it’s lighter and easier to maintain than real teak wood. Hinckley used 3D printing for its titanium hardware and for the boat’s console details.

hinckley 2.jpg

Hinckley has every reason to be proud of The Dasher: the company has been at the forefront of yacht design since it first started operating in 1928. It has built a reputation for beautiful, innovative and timeless yachts. And The Dasher is no exception. If you are interested in purchasing The Dasher, be aware that it has a hefty price tag or approximately half a million dollars, and can be ordered now, for delivery in summer 2018.

If you are interested in finding out more about this exceptional all-electric luxury yacht, let Baroque Yachts assist. Mail us right away, info@baroqueyachts.com, and we will give you all the information you require on Hinckley’s latest creation, the all-electric The Dasher, the Tesla of the seas.

Monaco Yacht Club – the super yacht hub of the summer

As summer sun continues to shine on European hotspots in the Med, super yachts of all shapes and sizes have descended on Monaco, using the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco as their base. Baroque Access takes a look

Super yacht owners from all over the world moor their fine vessels at the famous Yacht Club de Monaco every year – and this summer is no exception. Monaco is, after all, a key yachting destination, and whether they visit the Principality to enjoy an important event, like the Monaco Grand Prix, or use this jet set destination as their base from which to explore further afield in the Med, those who can afford to own or charter a luxury yacht pass through Monaco every summer.

Many of the world’s most prestigious luxury yachts moor here permanently, whilst others visit during the warmer months. But at any time of the year you’ll find at least 25% of the world’s largest super yachts moored at this architecturally beautiful establishment, which was designed by Norman Foster in 2014 to resemble a boat. This beautiful structure is the perfect location from which to enjoy a drink as the sun sets over the harbour on a warm summer’s evening.

The Monaco Yacht Club, as it is called in English, offers numerous facilities including a burgeoning sports section where members can learn how to sail. This part of the Yacht Club was founded by Prince Rainer III in 1970; it offers sailing lessons for experienced sailors and amateurs from the age of six. The lessons, coaching and training sessions are held year-round by highly experienced instructors.

The Yacht Club de Monaco also plays a pivotal role in the life of Monaco’s main port, Monte Carlo, making it the center of maritime activities for the Principality and for all those who visit there. Throughout the year there are numerous sporting and social events in Port Hercule. The next one on the agenda is coming up in September 2017.

This is Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe, held from 13 to 17 September this year, a bi-annual event when the harbour is filled with a variety of historical boats, from small recreational craft to luxury vessels. Visitors come to see classic sailing yachts of the past, as well as dinghies, motorboats, and motor-yachts from different eras. They stroll through the southern part of the quay of the Yacht Club de Monaco, learning about Monaco’s proud maritime heritage and the many vessels that have sailed here, all meticulously restored to their former glory.

Ritz Carlton takes luxury to the sea

Expect sumptuous sea vessels and exciting journeys as the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company takes to the seas with a series of luxury yachts and cruises. Baroque Travel has all the details

The Ritz-Carlton group is about to become quite unique; it will soon be the only one of its kind in the world, a brand that offers bespoke luxury travel experiences on both land and sea. Last month the group introduced the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, a luxury hospitality service brought to us by award-winning luxury hotel brand Ritz-Carlton its first foray into the cruising sector of the luxury travel market.

The new company is creating three exquisite cruising yachts, designed by cruise ship design firm Tillberg Design of Sweden. The first Ritz-Carlton yacht will take to the sea at the end of 2019.

Cruises on these luxurious vessels will be between 7 and 10 days in duration, and when it embarks in the last quarter of 2019, the first ship will visit a variety of exciting destinations including the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and Latin America. As these luxury yachts will be much smaller than cruise liners, they will be able to visit locations that are inaccessible to larger cruise ships, including the likes of Capri, Portofino and St Barth.

Journeys on these luxury yachts will include visiting ports of call for the day, and overnight. Because of their size, these luxury yachts will offer accommodation of 149 suites for a maximum of 298 passengers. Each suite will feature a private balcony offering spectacular sea views. There will also be two spacious duplex penthouse suites on each yacht.

Journeys will offer guests an unrivalled level of personal service and comfort, something Ritz-Carlton hotels are already synonymous with, but an offering that is quite unusual when it comes to cruising. The yachts will feature restaurants by Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, the three Michelin-starred restaurant located at The Ritz Carlton in Wolfsburg. In addition, they will each offer the services of a signature Ritz-Carlton spa. Of course, that will be of the highest standard, too.

According to President and COO of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company LLC, Herve Humler, “This unique combination of yachting and cruising will usher in a new way of luxury travel for guests seeking to discover the world in a relaxed, casually elegant and comfortable atmosphere with the highest level of personalized service.”

The cruising itineraries will be bespoke, developed to combine the luxury lifestyle of The Ritz-Carlton’s resorts with the casual freedom of an unparalleled yachting vacation. Rolls-Royce invites you sailing

British automaker Rolls-Royce recently unveiled a powered yacht that will make cruising the seas an extremely luxurious experience. Baroque Yachts has all the details

The brand new 65-foot Aeroboat S6 day cruiser is the second yacht powered and propelled by Rolls-Royce and designed by London design studio Claydon Reeves. The first Aeroboat SV12 was created in 2013 and featured the iconic Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine in reconditioned form.

The new iteration is made from aluminum and carbon and rides on a hull that was developed by British studio BMT Nigel Gee. It’s powered by twin MTU V10 2000 M96 Rolls-Royce engines and a water jet propulsion system. The result is fully optimized and sporty performance.

The design of the yacht is described as a representation of the luxury outdoor lifestyle and the thrill of high performance cruising. Obviously, the easy access to the water’s edge is another advantage. The cockpit is shaped like a teardrop – this is one of the Aeroboat S6’s signature characteristics. In the central mid-ship seating area there is a dining table; the seating area then continues all the way to aft swim platform.

This exceptional yacht boasts two decks that can host up to 12 guests. There is only accommodation for up to four people, though. The cabin below features an entertainment area as well as a Pullman for crew or guests. Many of this iconic yacht’s features are larger, including a tender garage that can house a 3.8m tender or two jet skis.

To give the yacht easy access to the water, the Aeroboat is designed with an extendable swim platform; this can be lowered to act as a ladder into the sea. The inclusion of Rolls-Royce joystick controls ensures easy and accurate manoeuvrability when navigating in port or alongside other vessels. The yacht’s top speed with a light load is estimated at approximately 48 knots. Its range is 40 knots and the full 1,518-gallon fuel capacity offers approximately 400 nautical miles.

The new Aeroboat yacht project will feature a range of luxurious models offered between 55 and 100 feet-plus. The Aeroboat draws inspiration from the design of iconic British aircraft over the past 100 years, all of which harnessed Rolls-Royce power.

If you would like to find out more about this iconic yacht project, let Baroque Yachts assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueyachts.com and we will find out all the information you require.

Where to moor your yacht in Europe this summer

One of the hottest spots to moor a yacht this summer is the Spanish coastal city of Barcelona. Baroque Yachts finds out why it’s so popular

Menorca.jpg

Barcelona has been Europe’s super yacht hotspot for the past year, and it looks as if it’s going to be a hot contender in summer 2017 as well. There are plenty of reasons why this beautiful port city is being chosen by yacht owners and those who are chartering super yachts for the summer months – it’s a stunning city, and it’s close to numerous exquisite destinations, both those in Catalan waters and the breathtaking Balearic Islands.

Barcelona’s port has been recently redeveloped and now provides a variety of state-of-the-at mooring facilities for visitors and their yachts right in the center of the waterfront. There are 10 marinas in Barcelona in all, offering at least 8,000 berths. The price of mooring your yacht in this city is comparable to mooring in any of the French ports, which is another reason the Spanish city is becoming so popular. And the city itself is another reason to moor here.

15418372_699525593548029_4475403111576793494_o.jpg

Barcelona is beautiful, and mooring your yacht in its marinas, including the stunning, centrally located OneOcean Port Vell, which caters to large yachts as well as smaller vessels, offers an opportunity to explore what is known as one of the most charming cities in Europe, with its many cultural and artistic treasures.

While Monte Carlo and the French Riviera will always be extremely popular, the Spanish have one thing going for them – they know how to party with abandon. And that’s another reason Barcelona is becoming such a hotspot, not only for those enjoying summer vacations on a luxury yacht, but for those travelling by air or road to get there.

The city boasts nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, seven of which are properties created by genius Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi to honor his exceptional, creative contribution to architecture and building technology in the 19th and 20th Centuries. This distinctive Spanish city offers a world of discovery that includes an artistic legacy not only from the likes of Gaudi but also from famous artists through the ages such as Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Maria Fortuny, Ramon Casas and Antoni Tapies.

The city is also renowned for its superb cuisine, and there are at least 23 Michelin star restaurants to be found there. It is also known for its lively street parties, food revelries and spectacular events. In fact, in Barcelona, every event is an excuse to have a good party.

Aside from OneOcean Port Vell, which is one of the most popular marinas in the Mediterranean because it can accommodate larger super yachts, there’s also Vilanova Grand Marina that can accommodate larger yachts as well.

Of course the cruising grounds close to the city are what makes it such a popular mooring destination. The Balearic Islands, including the most popular ones (Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca), are filled with spectacular beauty, stunning dining opportunities and lots of lively nightlife. Super yachts can also venture further down the Spanish coast. Alternatively, there’s the breathtaking Cote d’Azur and Sardinia just waiting to be discovered.

If you are interested in finding out more about mooring your yacht in Barcelona, or would like to find our more information about the marinas that still have availability for the summer months, let Baroque Yachts assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueyachts.com, and we will find out all the information you require to ensure you enjoy a stunning yacht vacation in Spain and its surrounds.

A luxury yacht to match your Bugatti Chiron!

Recently revealed, Bugatti’s luxury sport yacht has been created for those who want to match their $2.6 million Chiron supercar to something for use on the water. Baroque Yachts investigates

Boasting a fire pit and a Jacuzzi, not to mention Bugatti’s superlative styling, the limited edition sport yacht, Bugatti Niniette 66, has been inspired by the brand’s famous supercar, Chiron, the fastest production car in the world. This is not the first time that Bugatti has branded products other than its magnificent vehicles. There have been complete furniture collections boasting the Bugatti signature, high end watches and even motorcycles. And now there’s a Bugatti super yacht added to the mix.

The reason is simple, according to Bugatti’s Design Director and Head of Interior Design, Etienne Salome. He believes that the brand’s design philosophy is “so unique and original” that it lends itself to numerous products, not just exquisite cars. He does admit, though, that “a yacht is something special”, and for this reason, Bugatti’s design team collaborated with the expert yacht designers and builders at Palmer Johnson when they developed this innovative, powerful yacht.

Premier yacht designers Palmer Johnson are renowned for developing innovative yachts for the next generation, so designing Bugatti’s very special vessel was an exciting opportunity. The result is a very unique yacht that combines both brands’ design ethic and philosophy. And it matches the Bugatti Chiron perfectly, as this extraordinary sports car, which made its world premier at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, boasts a huge amount of power and can reach a top speed of 261mph.

The project has been in the works since 2015 and prospective buyers include many who own the Bugatti Chiron. The final product is a force to be reckoned with, a luxurious 66-foot-long sports yacht that is as powerful as it is beautiful. Made of carbon fiber composite so that it can move as fast as possible, the yacht can reach a top speed of 44 knots. Its spacious open deck features leather seats and exquisite oak wood. The lower deck boasts a champagne bar, lots of space and seating and a sun pad, not to mention the private Jacuzzi and fire pit mentioned earlier.

bugatti chiron yacht 6.jpg

Inside, there’s a massive spacious salon instead of smaller cabins, beautifully fitted with a couch and massive flat screen TV. Next to the salon is a king-sized bed, plus a massive couch to sleep more guests.

The yacht boasts two 1,000-horsepower MAN V8-1,000 engines paired with Marine Jet propulsion water jets. The power is controlled by joystick in the topside cockpit which also boasts an interactive infotainment system that controls navigation, monitoring of systems and entertainment. The yacht’s shallow 4.3-foot draft enables it to enter waters denied boasts of a similar class because of their deeper draw.

The 66 limited edition yachts will be delivered to their lucky owners in exactly a year’s time, March 2018.

For those who aren’t aware – Bugatti actually does have a boat-building heritage. In 1930, the auto manufacturer was commissioned by Austrian Prince Carlo Maurizio Ruspoldi to build a one-off speedboat. It was named Niniette after the prince’s daughter’s pet, hence the name of the new water-bound Bugatti iteration.

bugatti chiron yacht 3.jpg

Palmer Johnson Timur Mohamed has the last word. “The challenge was to create an experience and a persona as much as a yacht,” he explains, describing Niniette’s “streamlined luxury, sophisticated style, and unprecedented quality”. “For owners of tomorrow,” he says, “Niniette will lift your expectations of life even higher”.

If you are interested in finding out more about this exceptional super yacht, let Baroque Yachts assist. Contact us right away, info@baroqueyachts.com, and we will find out all the information you require, including how to purchase one of these limited edition super yachts. Aston Martin powerboat debuts

This February at the 29th annual Yachts Miami Beach, Aston Martin debuted a stunning Powerboat. Baroque Yachts has all the details

aston powerboat 9.jpg

Yachts Miami Beach, from 16 to 20 February 2017, featured many of the most extraordinary and uniquely designed yachts and super yachts from international custom boat builders. It also featured a reveal from one of the world’s most luxurious automobile manufacturers, the prototype Aston Martin AM37 powerboat. This represents an entirely new concept for the yachting world, and was received with much acclaim.

Created by Quintessence Yachts, the AM37 certainly challenges the status quo and offers the perfect translation of Aston Martin’s legendary personality into an entirely new maritime concept. The boat design combines innovative technology with bespoke craftsmanship. As the brand describes it, “there is a perfect balance of design and engineering, performance and comfort, luxury and functionality”.

aston powerboat 3.jpg

The Aston Martin Powerboat can carry a maximum of eight passengers, making it an ideal luxury day cruiser. Quintessence Yachts designed and crafted the vessel with meticulous attention to detail at their UK premises last year. Some of the more unique aspects of the boat include a sliding deck that uses unique technology that enables owners to cover and uncover the boat’s cockpit at the touch of a button. The Powerboat also features a wraparound windscreen created from a single piece of sculpted glass that drapes over the boat’s foredeck. This innovative windscreen sets a new industry standard with its extreme double curvature.

The boat has an electro-hydraulic carbon fiber top that can be stowed above the engine hatch when not in use. There’s also a swim platform that extends from the aft deck that gives passengers easy access to the water. The carbon fiber dashboard is reminiscent of various styling elements from some of the most advanced Aston Martin sports cars. It is created in the finest leather and offers various functional features in polished metal including the steering wheel, joystick and throttle handles.

The AM37 has been designed to be used both by day and overnight. The table converts into a comfortable double bed and the cabin offers air-conditioning and mood lighting. There is a fridge, microwave oven and espresso machine in the cabin as well as an onboard toilet and the interior design includes leather, metal, glass and wood plus exquisite furnishings.

The Powerboat is 37 feet long and comes in a choice of two versions, one with an estimated top speed of 45 and a choice of two 370 hp Mercury diesel engines, and the other with two 430 hp Mercury petrol engines and an estimated top speed of 50 knots.

The yacht, one of Lurssen’s finest, is reminiscent of the brand’s super yachts Phoenix 2, Quattroelle and Ace. It’s a striking vessel, spacious, with a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots (and a range of 6,000 nautical miles at that cruising speed).

Solandge offers a glamorous owner’s cabin that spans the ship’s full beam and offers a private deck with spa pool, office, dressing room and bathroom, second dressing room and bathroom, sitting room with fireplace, and windows offering breathtaking 180-degree views throughout. There are also numerous spacious indoor entertainment areas for guests, including a large seating area with fireplace, piano and TV screen as well as various other areas that are also wired for karaoke.

A highlight of the interior is the breathtaking 15m sculpture in the atrium lobby that lights up; it’s nicknamed ‘the tree of life’ and features 1,200 illuminated Murano glass flowers. This is encircled by a stainless steel and leather bannister to accompany the gorgeous grand staircase. In front of the lobby area one finds the guest cabins, each with its own color scheme. And throughout, the interior is lit by stunning Schonbeck chandeliers.

Lazing in the sun whilst cruising is a favorite pastime on Solandge, which is why the sun deck is large and multifunctional. On the center deck there’s a stunning horseshoe-shaped bar area with gold mosaic finish and for more private star-gazing, there’s a romantic area tucked to starboard that’s piled high with cushions. Various other expansive outside areas make the lifestyle on board Solandge very much a choice of indoor and outdoor day and night.

Entertainment on board Solandge is unmatched, with a wide selection of options including wireless Internet access for streaming music, movies and shows. Priceless Lexus super yacht on the horizon

Not content with providing the world with super-fast super cars, luxury super car manufacturer Lexus has created a yacht that reaches unbelievable speeds. Baroque Yachts finds out all about it

In the future we may be seeing Lexus luxury boats on the seas, if the Japanese-based luxe supercar manufacturer’s latest project is anything to go by. This month, Lexus revealed a superlative, unique super yacht, a hint that they may shortly be producing exquisite, fast, sporty sailing vessels as well as the luxury cars they have become so famous for. The yacht was introduced at Di Lido Island on Biscayne Bay, Florida, by Lexus Chief Branding Officer, Akio Toyoda.

Lexus has announced that they will be expanding “into new areas of lifestyle and recreation”, so a series of super sailing boats may well be part of the plan. The brand’s new sport yacht concept certainly hints at their future preoccupation. The yacht can reach approximately 43 knots (49 miles per hour); this is almost as fast as the fastest vessel on the market, which reaches 50 knots. That’s a mean feat for a car manufacturer.

The high tech vessel, which is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, is designed to accommodate up to eight people at a time, boasts twin 5.0 liter V8 petrol engines and is inspired by the high-performance vehicle, the Lexus RC F coupe, GS F sport saloon and the brand’s latest iteration, the LC 500 luxury coupe. The fully networked, integrated audio and video entertainment system on the yacht was created by Videoworks of Italy; it offers 4G, Wi-Fi and WAN. By using carbon-fiber reinforced plastic to create the yacht, its weight is significantly reduced; in fact, it’s almost 2,200 pounds lighter than similar sized yachts that are made of fiberglass reinforced plastic. Interestingly enough, the carbon fiber is also used on the automaker’s incredible LFA, which reaches up to 202 miles per hour.

Two separate teams at Lexus’ Design Center in Japan were given the brief to create the proof-of-concept Lexus Sport Yacht, and their concepts were then submitted for evaluation way back in 2015. It was an exciting time for the creative at Lexus, pushing their boundaries creatively to design something outside of the automobile realm. The selected proposal was then refined throughout 2015 and into 2016, and the yacht was finally built. The result is a bespoke, one-off project. As yet, Lexus has shown no intention of putting the yacht into production. The concept was then built by the Marquis-Carver Yacht Group in Wisconsin, USA.

If you would like to find out more about this incredible concept yacht, you are welcome to mail Baroque Yachts, info@baroqueyachts.com. If you would like information on any of Lexus’ stunning new vehicle models for 2017, contact our sister company, Baroque Ground, right away, info@baroqueground.com and they will assist you.

The largest super yacht marina in the Middle East is coming

Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is planning to build a massive new harbor in Dubai harbor for super yachts. Baroque Yachts finds out all the details

Dubai is already a major playground for the wealthy, but Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashin Al Maktoum has plans to ensure this Gulf location remains top of the list. He recently revealed plans to build the largest marina in the Middle East on the Dubai waterfront. His plan? To attract wealthy yacht owners from all the states in the Gulf, who together own at least a third of the largest super yachts on earth.

The new marina, which will be situated in the area between the Palm Jumeirah and the Jumeirah Beach Residence, will be developed by the Dubai holding company Meraas. The multi-purpose project, named ‘Dubai Harbor’ will stretch over 20 million square feet. It will include a marina capable of accommodating 1,400 large super yachts up to 85 meters in length as well as a 1,500 square foot terminal for luxury cruise liners that will accommodate up to 6,000 passengers at a time as well as a shopping mall, hotels, offices, yacht club, entertainment area, residential apartments, restaurants and even an events arena.

There will be an illuminated 135-meter (443-foot) tower called ‘Dubai Lighthouse’, featuring a luxury hotel and observation deck. The marina, which will be home to the tallest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa, will also incorporate Skydive Dubai, Logo Island and Dubai International Marine Club via a new road network and a monorail.

The impressive project, which will expand Dubai’s yacht capacity by approximately 50% from the current offering of 3,000 yachts., will be developed in several phases. It is expected to be complete within four years, according to UAE Vice President and Dubai Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed, who made a public announcement about the major new waterfront development on 2 January this year.

“I am confident that the project will have a highly positive effect on the tourism sector of our entire region,” he said in his address. “We are keen to encourage new projects and promote investments that will contribute to bringing more tourists to the region, people who are interested in experiencing this part of the world."

To connect the rest of the city with the marina, there will be a new bridge that links directly from Sheikh Zayed Road, where the marina will be located. The bridge will also be accessed via public transport, from either the monorail system at Palm Jumeirah or from a metro stop at the new Bluewaters Island project. Plans are also underway for a pedestrian bridge to the Palm Jumeirah, which will feature a jogging and cycling track.

Super yacht Ulysses for sale

The fourth largest super yacht in the world, Ulysses is a force to be reckoned with on the high seas. Baroque Yachts takes a look at this explorer yacht that is currently on sale for $95 million

Built by renowned Norwegian shipbuilder Kleven Maritime AS, Ulysses is their first super yacht, as they specialize mainly in commercial vessels. With Ulysses they created a yacht with an unmatched level of perfection, an offshore explorer yacht that competes not only against any other super yacht of its caliber ever built, but can also withstand any challenge that the sea offers.

Boasting more amenities than most super yachts in the 21st Century, Ulysses is 107 meters in length, and boasts a huge 18m beam. Both hull and superstructure are created from steel. The interior design was the project of H2 Yacht Design, a challenge because of the sheer volume of the interior. The result exceeds expectations on all counts.

This magnificent super yacht offers everything possible to ensure a life as a luxury charter vessel. There are more super yacht toys than one can mention, including buggies, motorbikes, sailing boats, a state-of-the-art diving center, and much more. And let’s not forget every possible high tech onboard entertainment feature imaginable.

The highlight is the vast 21 meter tender, that is known as U-21, which is located in the foredeck. It features specially fitted cranes to lower it into and out of the water. Built in New Zealand, it offers the opportunity for deep sea fishing and accommodates up to seven guests in five cabins. And let’s not forget the helipad that comes complete with hangar and refueling station. That will give you a taste of the luxury and diversity on offer in this superlative explorer yacht.

As far as capacity is concerned, Ulysses can accommodate up to 30 guests in 15 luxurious cabins and a crew of 30 staff who share 15 crew cabins. Completed this year in March, the yacht boasts an incredible range of 8,500. And why is it on sale, you ask? Simple – the owner wants a larger one, 116 meters in length. It’s currently being built and will be ready to sail in early 2017.

One thing is certain. Anybody who purchases this treasure will be able to enjoy cruising around the world’s oceans with every possible comfort, luxury and safety feature. Its features, which are astounding, included a Rolls-Royce integrated bridge, spacious guest areas, a separate owner’s deck complete with 11m swimming pool and 12-person Jacuzzi, private movie theater, spacious gym and spa area – and we’ve already mentioned the helicopter hangar and the one-of-a-kind tender, U-21.

New Italian masterpieces revealed at Monaco Yacht Show

Baroque Yachts reveals one of the highlights of this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, a series of five exquisite yacht design projects from Italian shipbuilder CRN

One of the most exciting reveals at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show came from Italian shipbuilder CRN, who presented its latest design projects. CRN is part of the famous Ferretti Group, renowned as a world leader in designing and building exclusive brands of motor yachts and pleasure vessels. And the projects on display at the show certainly did not disappoint.

The shipbuilder, which specializes in building fully custom steel and light aluminum alloy pleasure vessels, is constantly developing new concepts, and works together with international designers renowned for their innovative talent. This year, CRN’s world-class craftsmanship was on display in the form of five magnificent yacht design projects ranging in size from 55 meters to 72 meters. The projects, like others created by the shipbuilder, are destined to become real trendsetters in the yachting world.

First up is the 55m M/Y CRN Superconero, designed by Zuccon International Projects and engineered by CRN Engineering. The yacht, at 55 meters long and 9 meters wide, falls within the 500 GRT class. It’s an exceptional vessel, featuring all of CRN’s main solutions, including a balcony that can be enjoyed whilst cruising. There’s a terrace that opens up onto the sea that is perfect when the yacht is at anchor, an aft beach club, as well as a float-in garage for the tender. The result is a single, open area connected to the beach club, creating a wide lounge area at sea level.

The yacht design features vast internal spaces; there are also expansive full-height windows that offer a feeling of being in contact with nature. All in all, the 55m M/Y Superconero is a truly exceptional, one-of-a-kind yacht, perfect for those who wish to experience total freedom at sea.

Omega Architects designed two exceptional yacht projects for CRN: M/Y Oceansport that comes in a 61m and an impressive 75m version. These two mega yachts, which will have a beam of 11m and 13m respectively, draw inspiration from the same concept. They combine the outstanding seaworthiness that is a signature of CRN naval platforms as well as a sporty, streamlined profile typical of all Omega Architects’ creations. In addition, both yachts will boast harmonious, slender lines that are further highlighted by dark side windows joined together to create a long, uninterrupted dark glazing that cuts across the main and upper decks.

Both of these exquisite yachts are designed and engineered with a meticulous attention to detail when it comes to proportion, ensuring that all the guest areas are spacious and light. The beach clubs offer a wellness and fitness area, including a sauna, gym and swimming pool. Both yachts feature full-height windows on both sides in the aft area of the main deck, offering breathtaking sea views without compromising on privacy.

The 72m M/Y CRN is another masterpiece project from Francesco Paszkowski Design; its first was also the first super yacht built in collaboration with CRN. The new 72m design boasts much larger volumes and many innovative architectural solutions. These include increasingly slender lines, resulting in a very light silhouette. Also, the rounded shapes in the design have created a more compact yacht. Finally, there is an extensive use of linear glazed surfaces and see-through balconies, making it seem as if there is no barrier between the vessel and the sea outside.

At 72 meters in length and 13 meters wide, this extraordinary vessel is designed for optimum comfort and relaxation. There are several dining areas, as well as an entertainment area on the upper deck, a gym, sauna and massage room. Spaciousness and connectivity with the outside has been created by using terraces with sea views, outdoor swimming pools, wide glazed surfaces and the spacious beach club. Wherever you look, you can see the sea.

CRN’s final masterpiece is the 62m M/Y CRN that is being created in collaboration with Italian design firm Nuvolari Lenard who handled the concept as well as interior and exterior design. The yacht is designed to be 62m long and boasts a beam of 12m; it has a soft, sinuous line that creates almost a wave-like movement. In addition, the superstructure ends in a clear-cut vertical line onto the inverted bow. The result is a pleasure vessel that offers magnificent sea views, with a master deck with the owner’s suite located aft. This concept will begin construction at the end of 2016, and be launched in 2019.

Three other new megayachts are currently under construction at CRN’s shipyard, the building facility for the Ferretti Group’s large vessels, which is also one of the leading pleasure boat hubs in Europe. These include the second largest vessel ever to be built by CRN, the 79m M/Y CRN 135, whose exteriors are being designed by Zuccon International Project and interiors by Laura Sessa. There’s also the 74m M/Y CRN 131, which is expected to be launched over the next few months. Its exteriors were developed together with Zuccon International Project, and interiors created by Andrew Winch Interior Designer in cooperation with CRN Interior Design.

A stunning new yacht from Mercedes-Benz

Right now, The Silver Arrow of the Seas is sailing on its maiden voyage on the Cote d’Azur. Baroque Access has all the details about this new breed of luxury yacht that has been created by Mercedes Benz

Meet the Silver Arrow of the Seas, a luxury motor yacht that is currently sailing off the coast of Nice on the French Riviera. The very first of this new style of yacht is named Mercedes after the motoring company. This exceptional sailing vessel is a completely new yacht concept that is a collaboration between Mercedes Benz and Silver Arrows Marine. The yacht is 14m long, 706kW (960hp) and combines the performance of a Mercedes Benz sports car with the latest sailing technological innovations.

The yacht’s classic automobile proportions are a reminder of Mercedes’ superb design, and the yacht itself is a dynamic creature, a combination of an open boat and a cabin cruiser. The result is a stunning yacht, equally suitable for day use or overnight trips.

The luxurious motor yacht, the Arrow460-Granturismo, accommodates up to 10 people in comfort. It’s a combination of a boat with an open cockpit and one with a closed cabin. You see, this new concept yacht boasts large retractable windows and even the windscreen can be raised so that passengers can sit comfortably inside while enjoying a panoramic view.

Features include a wooden interior using eucalyptus wood. The yacht design is very avant garde, and gives this unique yacht a sculptural temperament. Of course, the yacht is as comfortable and luxurious as it is beautiful and high-tech. Its long foredeck and flowing, arched roofline with a slightly descending rear give the vessel the proportions of a luxury automobile. Typical of Mercedes Benz, the style is elegant, functional, modern and plush.

merc yacht 7.png

This is not the first time that Mercedes Benz has been involved in creating sailing vessels. The Mercedes-AMG ‘inspired’ Cigarette power-boats were created a while ago. But this new yacht concept takes sailing to another level entirely. The magnificent Arrow460-Granturismo is extremely advanced and futuristic looking and represents a whole new yacht genre.
