Now chartering a super yacht and exploring the popular Eastern Caribbean islands of St Barths, Antigua and St Maarten just got a whole lot easier, thanks to the opening of a brand new Marina at Christophe Harbor on the island of St Kitts
As more and more super yachts are choosing the Caribbean islands as their ports of call, a brand new marina had to be built. And so the $100 million Marina at Christophe Harbor on the paradise of island of St Kitts in the Eastern Caribbean was built. Created with the leadership of super yacht owner and real estate developer Charles Darby, the new marina will establish the island of St Kitts as part of the popular Caribbean yacht cruising circuit that includes St Barths, Antigua and St Maarten.
To date, the first phase of the Marina has been completed, including 24 berths, 150 to 220 feet in size, each offering rare freehold berth ownership opportunities for owners of vessels between 85 and 300 feet. Once the Marina is completed, it will include a shore-side village complete with hotels, restaurants and boutiques.
It was the perfect time to build the Marina, Darby said, as the yacht charter business is booming and the islands of St Kitts, St Barths, Antigua and St Maarten remain top luxury holiday destinations for those who can afford to visit there.
The Marina features an entry and turning basin that has been specifically engineered, offering private and charter super yachts every facility, excellent security and a safe harbor. Christophe Harbor ticks all the boxes for an ideal homeport – there’s even a private jet terminal and a modern airport for larger aircraft just 15 minutes away, so that those who are chartering a yacht can get to and from their vessel with ease.
The Marina at Christophe Harbor has been designed as part of a larger resort community that includes a club for members only and luxury real estate properties. The first Park Hyatt hotel to be built in the Caribbean is currently under construction, and a Tom Fazio golf course is also on the cards. The end result will be a magnificent base from which to explore the surrounding Caribbean islands, a global super yacht center with an idyllic setting.
During the Marina’s inaugural season, super yacht charter companies and owners are being offered three nights of complimentary dockage for vessels measuring 85 to 300 feet. And with summer just around the corner, it’s a good idea to book your super yacht charter around the Caribbean right away.
