Yes, we all know we can moor our luxury yacht in Cannes, Port Hercules in Monaco and Porto Cervo in Sardinia, but where else is a great spot to dock our super yachts this summer? If the Cote d’Azur is a little too crowded for your liking, or you’d like a change of scenery, why not try some of the latest marinas where the jet set is headed this summer? Here are some of the top ports of call…



The Vilanova Grand Marina opened in Barcelona in 2009 and is fast becoming a top favorite. It offers berths for yachts up to 120 meters. Located just outside of the city, it boasts a number of excellent restaurants, superb luxury shops, and stunning architecture not to mention breathtaking views. There’s also the newer private club, OneOcean Port Vell, which offers berths for vessels up to 190 meters. The 148-berth marina offers members state-of-the-art facilities and services.



Turkey’s magnificent Turquoise Coast has long been a best-kept secret, but for those who enjoy sailing along this spectacular coastline, the best place to moor is

The Yalikavak Palmarina, which opened in 2013. It’s recently expanded and now offers mooring for more than 70 super yachts that measure 50m and more. It’s location is idyllic, set along the stunning Turkish Riviera which is famous for its beautiful beaches.



Fast becoming one of the most sought-after vacation destinations in the Med, especially amongst those traveling by yacht, Croatia’s ACI Marina in Split offers over 350 berths for super yachts measuring up to 90m. It also boasts numerous stores, restaurants, and various other amenities, and is the ideal spot to use as a base to explore this beautiful ancient town, with its quaint cobbled streets, the renowned Ciocletian castle, and exquisite architecture. The nightlife here is legendary, too.



Since it opened in 2014, the Limassol Marina has become a popular destination for super yacht owners from all over Europe and the Middle East. It features 650 berths suitable for yachts up to 115m. The development includes some beautiful residential properties, restaurants, cafes and entertainment.  



Right in the center of the Med, Malta is the ideal base from which to cruise to Spain and the French Riviera or head east to Turkey, Greece and Cyprus. The marina boasts an idyllic setting in this famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering berths for super yachts up to 135m nestling in front of historic waterfront buildings.



Capri and Portofino have long been popular mooring spots for yachts visiting Italy, and now there’s a new one to dock in, Marina di Scarlino, which opened in Tuscany in 2013. This beautiful marina, designed by Leanorda Ferragamo from renowned fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo, offers 950 berths as well as numerous entertainment options for yacht passengers. The marina is ideally situated close to Florence, Pisa and Siena.



This luxury marina and resort village is located in the wee coastal country of Montenegro, famous for its breathtaking landscape and historic architecture. Originally built in 2008, it now offers  450 berths and is still expanding.
