Next month, a new motoring event, London’s City Concours will take center stage, featuring over 100 supercars and classic vehicles as well as displays from numerous international luxury brands. Baroque Ground finds out all the details

If you’re planning to be in London on 8 & 9 June 2017, make some time to visit London’s inaugural City Concours which takes place at the headquarters of the Honorable Artillery Company, displaying numerous rare and exclusive cars, including iconic vehicles from the 1950s to the present day. These include the legendary Mercedes 300SL ‘Gullwing’, a Jaguar XJ220 as well as a Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1.

Aside from these gems, numerous top-end automotive brands will also have several vintage cars on display including partners such as Jaguar specialist Clayton Classics, Nicholas Mee, specialist for Aston Martin, classic car expert Fiskens and luxury car dealerships Romans and Stratstone.

A highlight of the event will be the breakfast hosted every morning by auction host RM Sotheby’s in conjunction with champagne brand Taittinger, who will have its own tent at the event. In addition, various luxury brands will also be on display including Mason & Sons, official outfitters to the City Concours, who will be showing off their luxury menswear collection. There will also be a selection of fine food stalls at the event.

The Honorable Artillery Company boasts a stunning five-acre property surrounded by historic buildings in the heart of London’s legendary Square Mile, close to numerous landmarks such as the Barbican.. The City Concours is being arranged by Thorough Events, a company that holds various Elegance events at Royal venues around the United Kingdom as well as the Gulf Concours at Dubai’s Burj Al Arab.

The cars on display have been divided into different categories. They include ‘Alternative Power’, ‘American Muscle’,  ‘Evolution of the Supercar’, ‘F1 Hall of Fame’, ‘The Swinging Sixties’ and ‘Speed’, amongst others. Aside from classic vehicles, there will be a number of new automobiles, such as the Touring Superleggera Disco Volante Spyder, which was built by hand and is one of only seven in the world. The car, whose design is inspired by the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante of the 1950s, will be shown in the ‘Modern Bespoke’ category. In the ‘Legends of Le Mans’ category, the most original and successful Jaguar D-Type in existence, the ‘RSF 303’ will be on display. This legendary vehicle finished second at Le Mans in 1957.
