Las Vegas is the center of the world when it comes to gambling, entertainment, glitz and glam. Life here is a never-ending string of fun and frenzy. It’s like living in the midst of a wild and wacky movie, where they’ve escalated the speed, the fantasy is full tilt and the action never stops.
Renowned as a hub of decadence and delight, Vegas also has a luxury element, with some of the best restaurants in the world, a new crop of luxe hotels and some of the best designer shopping on the planet in a series of exquisite mega malls. Aside from gambling, visitors here enjoy every possible type of entertainment imaginable, from theme parks and circuses to dining extravaganzas.
No matter how long you’re in town, we’ve put together an idea of how to get to know this vibrant city in the shortest time possible – in this case, 48 hours. Of course, if you are staying longer, BaroqueTravel will offer insight into lots of other sights and entertainment to keep you busy!
Two days of fun in the city that never sleeps
Explore the Strip and soak up the sights, including plenty of weird and wonderful characters. Then head for the Marquee Dayclub at the Bellagio. During the day you’ll find bathing beauties and their partners dancing up a storm. With an unequaled sound system and state-of-the-art audio-visual stage, the Dayclub also offers three storeys of Bungalow Lofts, which come complete with cabana, pool cabanas, infinity pools and a party deck right on top.
After a day full of fun in the sun, head for The Bellagio to enjoy the renowned Cirque du Soleil fantasy show, called “O”. Staying at the Bellagio itself is well worth it, but even if you choose another hotel, you have to visit this one to enjoy its fabulous entertainment. The set of “O’ is apparently the most expensive ever built, and the show itself is phenomenal. With a water theme, it features lots of swimming and diving. It’s indescribable!
After the show, head for STK for dinner. This modern establishment is a steakhouse on another level – it’s also a celebrity hotspot. Located within the Cosmopolitan Hotel, it offers the most tender steak dishes in Vegas. Created by The One Group, STK offers a bustling bar and relaxed dining setting. The menu is flavorsome and modern, courtesy of one of the country’s “Top Chef” contestants, Stephen Hopcraft, and uses only the freshest ingredients.
In Vegas, nobody goes out to have breakfast. It’s room service all the way, especially after a night of fun! We suggest you tour the Grand Canyon by helicopter, late this morning, returning in time for a long lunch at Milos at the Cosmopolitan. Your helicopter ride will take you from Vegas to explore the Grand Canyon. En route, sip some champagne and soak up the spectacular view from a bird’s perspective. If you prefer, you can spend the entire day at the Grand Canyon, exploring either by road or air. But even a few hours of fun in the sky are well worth it.
Whenyou return to Vegas, it’s time for a fabulous dining experience at Estiatorio Milos at The Cosmopolitan. Milos is renowned as one of the finest Mediterranean seafood restaurants in the world, with establishments in New York, Montreal, Athens, Miami and London as well as Vegas. Founded by chef Costa Spiliadis, this glorious Greek restaurant offers a menu filled with Mediterranean delights, especially seafood. Ask for a table on the terrace outside, which offers a spectacular view.
After lunch, we suggest going shopping at The Shops at Crystals, located on The Strip. It connects to the Aria Resort and Casino and was designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind and the Rockwell Group. It’s a luxurious, contemporary mall with elaborate water and ice displays, lush floral décor and iconic elements that include a 21m-tall tree house. Its 10 flagship exclusive designer stores include Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Tom Ford, Versace, Prada and Fendi.
Tonight, you head for MGM Grand for dinner, and then party on afterwards upstairs in the five-story mega-nightclub, Hakkasan, where you can dance till dawn. Hakkasan is known as the place to party. It is a sight to behold, with an enormous dance floor and floor-to-ceiling LED screens.
Located in the MGM Grand, the club is the playground of some of the world’s best DJs such as Steve Aoki, Deadmau5 and Calvin Harris. At the hotel itself, there are numerous restaurants and bars. Book a table at one of them; by reserving a table and dining there, you get automatic entrance to this exclusive club, which is almost impossible to get into under normal circumstances.
