Bucket Race St Barths

Don’t miss the famous St Barths Bucket Race

From March 19 to 22, St Barths takes center stage for the invitational regatta, The St Barths Bucket. Baroque Yachts has all the exclusive details.

It’s that time of year again; when St Barths hosts one of the most prestigious and popular invitational yacht regattas in the Caribbean, the St Barths Bucket. Watch a selection of exquisite sailboats, luxury yachts and superyachts as they set off on an exciting annual adventure.

Baroque Yachts has teamed up with the ultimate yacht in the Caribbean and is offering an exclusive package. For four days Baroque Yachts is making Harle, a beautiful ocean-chartered yacht available to attend the St Barths Bucket Regatta. For a total of $35,000 a night Baroque Yacht clients can head from St Martin to St Barths to encourage fellow yachters in this fun race!

The three-day race, which is held at Port Gustavia, usually permits a maximum of 30 yachts to participate – the only requirement is that the yachts must be at least 100 feet in length. But as this is a bucket regatta, where the emphasis is on fun, some of the participants narrowly miss fitting the bill, but are still permitted to join the throng. The St Barths Bucket Race is all about being carefree and having fun, an opportunity for yacht owners and their crews to race their yachts and enjoy the experience.

There are a number of fascinating rules that apply in the race. Take a look…

1.     Slower yachts start before the others, but the rules of a race still apply – and that is, the first yacht to cross the finish line is the winner.

2.     When they start off, the yachts are only permitted to use sail power, unless power is required for the yacht to steer clear of other yachts in the race.

3.     In the event of a yacht starting ahead of time, they will be permitted to continue, but five minutes will be added to the time of their race.

4.     If crew or owners are too competitive or get aggressive, they will be excluded from the race.
