The exciting Monaco Yacht Show, which runs from Wednesday 28 September until Saturday 01 October, is featuring more and more megayachts. Baroque Yachts, who are in the principality for the event, reports from the show
This year’s Monaco Yacht Show features more yachts than ever before, and also bigger ones! With more than 120 yachts on display, it’s hard to know which ones to look at. But if you’re looking for the best of the best, then look out for those megayachts that are all trending right now. We have marked those which are for charter as well as for sale.
Largest of all is the super yacht Athena, which measures almost 300 feet (90m) in length. The Royal Huisman yacht, which is also one of the most luxurious of its kind in the world, boasts three masts is already written down in yacht history. With a sumptuous spacious interior and lots of old world charm, this powerful megayacht, valued at almost $70 million, is a force to be reckoned with.
There are more than 10 other megayachts at the show for you to explore, all more than 65m in length and many available for charter. The amount on display this year is double the number of megayachts that were on display in 2015.Here’s a taste of some of the other magnificent megayachts to look out for…
Everybody’s talking about the ISA motoryacht Okto, which is available for charter. This striking $60 million schooner boasts a swimming pool on its main deck that is almost 20 feet long. This ultra-luxurious yacht also boasts a guest elevator that runs up to the bridgedeck, as well as an owner’s balcony that extends at the touch of a button, and four tender garages. But that’s not all. It’s fully customized and offers some unique features resulting in a vessel that offers every possible comfort as well as significantly lower levels of noise, vibration and fuel consumption in all the guest areas.
If you’re looking for lots of bells and whistles, not to mention every possible super yacht toy imaginable, the luxurious TV may well be your choice – whether you want to charter the yacht or buy it at around $60 million. This 78.5m (255ft) luxury motor yacht from Lurssen Yachts has facilities to entertain up to 12 guests in absolute luxury, with a spacious private area on the owner’s deck with Jacuzzi and sundeck. There’s even a dedicated gym, spa and hammam area, all sorts of watersports toys, a large fold-down sea terrace to give guests access from the sea to the sauna. In addition, there’s a helipad on the bridge deck aft.
Interested in travelling on a long distance adventure? Then the $70 million Yersin, which is built by the Piriou Shipyard and only for sale, is the one to buy. Designed to comfortably accommodate up to 18 guests, this fully air-conditioned French megayacht boasts 8 cabins including a VIP stateroom, space for up to 24 crew, and every possible amenity, including a helipad and tender garage.
Other yachts to look out for? If you’re in the charter market, like we are, you’ll want to see Solandge, which is 278 feet long, a striking megayacht that offers six-star luxury on six different decks. This magnificent vessel won the “La Belle Class Superyachts” award in 2014, and ‘Best Exterior’ at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show.
Yachts worth exploring if you’re in town and in the mood to purchase include the approximately $79 million Italian offering called Martha Ann, which is 230 feet long, includes plenty of toys and tenders including a limo, two wave runners and scuba diving equipment. And did we mention the interior is quite sublime? In fact, the silk carpeting alone is valued at $17 million! There’s also the 252-foot long Silver Fast, which has just returned from Australia, Stella Maris, which measures 236 feet, which has a price tag of around $85 million and offers luxe facilities for up to 14 passengers.
